Consumer Business Recap: Heineken’s New BREWS, McDonald’s Goes To SIBERIA

Volvo Ab (VOLVY.PK) will slash output by 10 percent and eliminate jobs because of lower sales, says a union representative. The Swedish automaker is set to report its first-half results next week.

Heineken Nv Adr (HINKY.PK) will soon introduce two news beers in North America, with Amstel Wheat and Tecate Michelada set to be launched in selected local markets. Beer industry volume has declined in the United States for the past three years, and the brewer calls itself an ‘under-innovator’ here.

The company is boosting its operations outside of metro Moscow, but this move is into far more remote areas, which is really a first for fast-food restaurants.
