Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) disclosed interesting details about its Google Analytics product during its earnings conference call for the first quarter. According to Chief Business Officer Nikesh Arora, Google Analytics is now being used by more than 10 million websites to generate statistics on web traffic.
The product has become very popular, particularly in conjunction with Google’s cloud-based apps. Google Analytics is extremely user-friendly and boasts a sophisticated dashboard that can be used by practically anyone to cull traffic statistics across websites, social media, and even mobile products, and judge the efficacy of marketing campaigns.
Last year Google revamped its product to include multi-channel funnels and real-time flow visualization and simultaneously launched a premium version of the utility.
Recently, Google added several more features such as scheduling automatic generation of reports and portability of these reports. Details of how many customers are subscribed to the premium version of Google Analytics were not made available by Arora, though the Google team appeared to be very satisfied with the performance of the product, both free and paid.
Google has garnered close to 82 percent of the market in analytics and about 55 percent of the top 10,000 websites use Google Analytics, according to W3.
