Freeform is an American cable channel that airs TV shows, theatrically released movies, and original programming. Founded by televangelist Pat Robertson in 1977 as part of his Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN), the channel was initially called the CBN Satellite Service. It has had several other names as it has changed ownership over the years, including the CBN Cable Network, the CBN Family Channel, the Family Channel, Fox Family, and ABC Family. Freeform’s parent company, ABC Family Worldwide, is part of the Walt Disney Company.

The network’s most popular original programs are dramas such as The Fosters, Pretty Little Liars, Siren, Shadowhunters, and Switched at Birth and the comedy Young & Hungry.

Current original hits include the thriller Cruel Summer, the comedy Everything’s Gonna Be Okay, the sitcom Grown-ish, and the young adult dramas The Bold TypeGood Trouble, and Motherland: Fort Salem.
