The Devil Wears Prada is a cult classic American film released in 2006 based on a book of the same name. The film stars Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway in lead roles.

The film follows aspiring journalist Andy Sachs (Hathaway) who is a misfit in her new job: personal assistant to Miranda Priestly (Streep), the editor-in-chief of Runway magazine. Priestley’s character is said to be inspired by Vogue’s real-life editor Anna Wintour. After fumbling in her role and getting humiliated by her boss, the film shows how Andy grows into her role and earns Miranda’s respect.

Streep earned a Best Actress nomination for her role in The Devil Wears Prada at the 2007 Academy Award.
