The Umbrella Academy is a Netflix show based on a comic book of the same name written by My Chemical Romance lead singer Gerard Way. The show has two seasons on Netflix, with a third in the works.

The Umbrella Academy follows a group of seven infants adopted by billionaire industrialist Sir Reginald Hargreeves. They are seven of 43 born to random women on the same day in 1989—none of the women were pregnant the day before. Hargreeves creates The Umbrella Academy to train the seven chosen children to save the world. In the present, the six surviving children reunite after their father’s death.
