While the most obvious upgrade in the new iPhone models is the larger screen sizes, Apple also boosted the video recording capabilities for the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus. Besides new features like cinematic video stabilization, continuous autofocus video, and the ability to take still photos while recording video, the new iPhone models also include a 240 frames-per-second (fps) slow motion video capability. Although slow-motion video shooting is already available on the iPhone 5S, its capability is limited to 120 fps. And when it comes to slow-motion video, doubling the frame rate apparently just makes everything look, well, cooler.

As noted by Apple, over ten million new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus models shipped over the first weekend of availability, and many more have shipped since then as the devices launched in twenty-two additional markets at the end of September. Not surprisingly, many of these new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus owners are trying out the devices’ new video recording capabilities, including its 240 fps slow-motion video mode.

While we can’t vouch for the artistic merit of watching a dog catch a tennis ball at 240 fps, many of these videos are still mesmerizingly beautiful simply because they unfold so slowly. Regardless of what the subject is, all of these videos do a fantastic job of demonstrating the amazing video recording capabilities of the new iPhones. In no particular order, here are ten of the coolest slow-motion videos that iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus owners have uploaded to various video sharing sites this month.
