A number of Apple’s former retail employees in New York and Los Angeles have brought a class-action lawsuit claiming that they were forced to wait in line for 30 minutes a shift so that their bags could be searched for stolen goods. Further, they said that they are not compensated for the time standing in line, which comes to $1,500 per year. The suit was filed in the Federal District Court in the Northern District of California, and was reported earlier by GigaOm. Apple would not comment, according to spokeswoman Amy Bessette, “We don’t comment on pending litigation.”

Facebook Inc. (NASDAQ:FB): Closing price $37.63

Challenging the traditional dominance of television over advertising budgets, Facebook will sell TV-style commercials on its site for up to $2.5 million per day, say two inside sources. The number one social networking site on the planet, which presently has 1.15 billion members, intends to begin offering 15-second spots to advertisers later in 20134, according to the sources.

Fitch Ratings has assigned Baidu Inc.’s proposed USD senior unsecured notes the expected rating of ‘A’. The final rating on the notes depends upon the receipt of final documents conforming to information that has already been received. The notes’ rating conforms with Baidu’s senior unsecured rating of ‘A’. The proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes, among which include the funding of potential acquisitions.
