9 Hot Stocks Lighting Up Trading Screens After-Hours

Gold (NYSE:GLD) continued its decline today, settling just over $1500 an ounce, its poorest showing since May 19 when it closed at $1492.40. The SPDR Gold Trust ETF continues to trade in the after hours, making minor gains.

Ford (NYSE:F) and GM (NYSE:GM) are actively trading after hours as investors try to determine how declining fuel prices will effect the automakers.

Both Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Intel (NASDAQ:INTC) have joined Google (NASDAQ:GOOG), Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC), and Research in Motion (NASDAQ:RIMM) in bidding for 6,000 patents being auctioned off by the bankrupt Nortel Networks Corp. Google is currently the highest bidder at $900 million pounds for the package of patents, but the winner won’t be decided until a June 27 auction. All of these stocks are trading heavily as investors speculate about who will be victor in the battle for intellectual property.
