Apple Hits New Milestones

Apple’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) venture into digital textbooks is in the forefront right now, but they have a few other milestones that deserve some attention as well. Apple’s stock soared as high as $431.37 this morning hitting yet another all-time high and their market cap also made the $400 billion mark for the first time ever.

Apple and Exxon Mobil (NYSE:XOM) have been battling to be named the biggest US public company. Currently, Exxon market cap is roughly $417 billion, so Apple still has some work to do to if they want to catch up.

Apple shares were slightly up at $429.20. Exxon Mobil increased 0.7 percent to $87.09.

Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT), Chevron (NYSE:CVX) and Intel (NASDAQ:INTC) are the three subsequent companies in the top five. All three companies have market caps between $200 billion to $250 billion.
