GE Partners With U of Washington on Infectious Disease Detector and 2 Other Dow Movers to Watch

Scientists at GE Global Research, GE’s tech development division, are collaborating with a team based at the University of Washington to develop a new medical device that will be able to detect infectious disease by way of a simple nasal swab in under an hour, the company said in a release. GE is conducting the research jointly with a group led by Paul Yager, chair of bioengineering at the university.


JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE:JPM): Current price $54.85

Sources told Reuters that United States prosecutors who are looking into JPMorgan for allegedly violating securities laws are examining mortgage bonds created by the bank itself but not by firms it acquired. On Wednesday, JPMorgan revealed that it is a subject of “parallel investigations” by criminal and civil divisions of the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of California, which includes Sacramento and Central Valley region.
