Here Are Apple’s New Black Friday Deals

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) may see even higher holiday shopping season profits this year due to a change in the company’s usual Black Friday discount policy. As first reported by Electronista, Apple is handing out Apple Store gift cards with select item purchases in the United States on Black Friday in lieu of its traditional merchandise discounts.

Black Friday shoppers in the U.S. who purchase an iPad Air will receive a $75 Apple Store gift card, and buyers of the first-generation iPad mini or iPad 2 will get a $50 gift card. Anyone who purchases a MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, or iMac on Black Friday will receive a $150 gift card. Buyers of the Apple TV or iPod nano can expect a gift card for $25, while an iPod touch will get buyers a $50 gift card.

Apple is also handing out gift cards to Black Friday shoppers for certain third-party product purchases. The Nike+ (NYSE:NKE) FuelBand SE, the Wahoo Fitness RFLKT Bike Computer, the Apogee JAM Guitar Input, the Dropcam Pro Camera, and the Logitech (NASDAQ:LOGI) Ultrathin Keyboard Cover for iPad mini all come with a $25 Apple Store gift card. Similarly, a purchase of the Nest Learning Thermostat 2, Beats Studio Headphones, or the GoPro Hero3+ will win shoppers a $50 gift card.

Apple’s new Black Friday gift card policy also applies to stores in Australia and New Zealand. However, as noted by Apple Insider, the iPhone maker is continuing to use direct discounts for several European markets, including in the U.K. and Germany. Although many of Apple’s retail stores are open as early as 6 a.m. on Black Friday, shoppers should first check the listed hours for their local Apple Store on Apple’s Retail Store List page, since times can vary by location. However, certain high-volume locations, like the Apple Store on Fifth Avenue in New York, will remain open for 24 hours on Black Friday.

Apple’s retail stores tend to be extremely busy during the holiday shopping season, especially after new product releases. Apple most recently launched the 7.9-inch iPad mini with Retina display on November 12. However, many analysts and industry watchers have noted that the new iPad mini will likely be in short supply this year due to production constraints. The new iPad mini with Retina display was noticeably absent from Apple’s list of items that are eligible for gift card discounts.

Here’s how Apple has traded over the past week.
