Is Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) opening its next retail store in this Alpine country? Switzerland-based website has uncovered seven Apple positions for Basel, Switzerland, that are being advertised on the website. Some of the advertised job positions include: Business Manager, Customer Advisor/Apple Specialist, and Technical Customer Service/Apple Genius.

The floor plans reveal a typical Apple Store layout with long sales tables and two Genius Bars.

Apple’s latest retail location will be located at Freie Strasse 47, Basel, Switzerland and it features approximately 460 square meters, or 4,950 square feet of floor space. Based on the progress of the construction, estimates that the store will probably not be open before late 2013 or early 2014.


Basel is Switzerland’s third most populous city with a population of about 172,000. It lies in the northeast of the country, close to where the French and German borders meet. This will be Apple’s fourth brick-and-mortar retail location in Switzerland. The other Apple Stores are located in Geneva, Wallisellen, and Zurich. Apple’s last two international store openings were in Berlin, Germany, and Adelaide, Australia.

Apple analyst Horace Dediu at Asymco notes that Apple Stores are the most successful retail stores in the U.S. based on sales per square foot. According to Dediu’s analysis, each Apple Store averages revenue of $13 million per quarter. The last quarter showed that the average Apple Store customer spent $57.60 per visit. Apple closed down 0.41 percent, or $1.85, at $449.73 on Friday. Here’s how Apple traded last week.
