Sprint (NYSE:S) gains 0.17% after the announcement of the unlimited data plan for Apple’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone starting October 14th. Beginning today, the iPhone 4 with the iOS 5 is available for $99.99. Neither Verizon (NYSE:VZ) nor AT&T (NYSE:T) offer unlimited data plans.
According to Business Wire, “(Sprint’s) unlimited data plans are the perfect fit for iPhone customers, said Sprint (NYSE:S) CEO Dan Hesse. Sprints unlimited data plans provide more value than metered plans from other carriers. Our customers can take advantage of the innovative features of iPhone without worrying about overage charges or surprises on their bill.”

Sprint’s (NYSE:S) stock is up .17% to $2.87 on the news. Shares are down 32.27% year to date. The stock has traded in a 52-week range between $2.25 and $6.45.
