Zynga Shuts Down OMGPOP Site and 2 More Heavily Traded Stocks to Follow

Over the weekend, Zynga shut its OMGPOP site along with a number of its titles. However, the firm still hangs onto Draw Something, which was a driving force behind the company. However, former OMGPOP employees were said to have offered to buy some of these assets and intellectual property from Zynga, but it did not change the decision.


Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL): Closing price $467.36

Apple shares closed almost 3 percent higher on Monday on reports that the electronics behemoth is finally poised to unveil its next-generation smartphone. All Things D reported on Saturday that Apple plans a special event for September 10 to debut its next iPhones. Media and analysts anticipate that Apple will showcase a new flagship smartphone, the iPhone 5S, and a less expensive, midrange handset, the iPhone 5C.


MannKind Corporation (NASDAQ:MNKD): Closing price $7.10

On Monday, MannKind posted financial results for the second quarter. Total operating expenses came to $41.6  million versus$44.1 million year-over-year, marking a decrease of $2.5 million. Research and development expenses totaled $27.1 million compared to $26.6 million year-over-year, making for an increase of $0.5 million primarily thinks to an increase in non-cash stock compensation expense partially outweighed by a fall in clinical trial-related expenses.
