The next-generation iPhone will be a winner that puts Samsung’s Galaxy III “to shame,” the chairman of Apple’s (NASDAQ:AAPL)) largest manufacturing partner, Hon Hai Precision Industry, told China Times. Terry Gou, who heads Hon Hai, or Foxconn, urged consumers to look forward to the new device, rumored to be coming out this fall.

Gou also confirmed his company’s deal with Japan’s Sharp Display during the company’s annual shareholders’ meeting held on Monday, and pledged to beat Samsung within the next three to five years through the new partnership. Gou had earlier been quoted by the same newspaper claiming that it was his lifetime goal to defeat Samsung. Gou also told shareholders that the company’s Sakai plant had entered into an exclusive agreement with Corning (NYSE:GLW), which makes next-generation liquid crystal displays.
Hon Hai assembles Apple’s iPhone and iPad in addition to manufacturing the Xbox for Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) and Sony’s (NYSE:SNE) Playstation. Gou also said that Microsoft’s new tablet, Surface, had used advanced technology and high-definition displays made by the Taiwanese company. Gou added that Hon Hai was working with Sharp as well as Chimei Innolux to research low-radiation and high-definition displays, as well as eye-control technology.
