How to Save on PlayStation 4 Games This Month
If you own a PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, or PS Vita, Sony has a good deal for you this month. According to a post on the PlayStation Blog, if you spend $100 in the PlayStation Store between October 1 to 28, Sony will send you a code that will add $15 to your account.
The PlayStation Store is Sony’s online marketplace where it sells digital games, music, movies, and TV shows. If you’re planning to buy two or three games in the near future, you won’t have any trouble meeting the $100 spending requirement, as new PS3 and PS4 games generally go for $60 apiece.
Once you spend $100, Sony will send out your $15 promo code by November 7. Note that the code must be redeemed by December 5 or it becomes invalid. Once you redeem the code, however, the money will remain in your account indefinitely.
The only question left is what games are worth buying. As luck would have it, the promotion comes just in time for the holiday shopping season, which means lots of big games have begun flooding the market. If you want some suggestions, take a look at these lists of the best games for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PS Vita. Also check out the best games released in August and September — they’re all quite good. Some of the biggest recent titles you might not have picked up yet include Destiny and Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor.
Sony’s promotion also works for preorders. Lots of great looking games are coming soon — just take a look at our lists of upcoming PS4 games and upcoming PS Vita games. Not to mention all of the non-exclusive games heading to PlayStation consoles in the coming months, including Far Cry 4, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel!, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, and Escape Dead Island. We have an embarrassment of riches to look forward to, and all pre-orders on the PlayStation Store count toward the $100 promotion.
If you want to save a few bucks and are planning to buy a few games anyway, there’s no reason not to take advantage of the deal. You can find the full details about the promotion here.
