A new report says Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) is set to launch a new lineup of iMac desktops in the near future. According to FoxNews.com, “multiple sources” have reported that the launch of Apple’s new computers is now “imminent.” Further proof lies in the fact that the supply of the 27-inch iMac model has been going out at Apple’s retail stores and third-party resellers.

“It’s possible the iMac announcement could happen at the rumored October iPad mini announcement, but I’m not holding my breath for that,” Fox News’ Clayton Morris wrote. “Apple has been known to update the desktops without much fanfare.”
The new iMacs are expected to feature Intel’s (NASDAQ:INTC) Ivy Bridge processors, USB 3.0 ports, and expanded solid-state drive capacities. The computers may also be slimmer than previous models.
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had written last month that two new iMac models would be among eight new product launches from Apple this fall. However, he also indicated that the new iMacs may not feature high-resolution Retina display of the new 15-inch MacBook Pro.
Shares of Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) closed Friday at $680.44.
