‘Bachelor’ and ‘Bachelorette’ Contestants Who Found Love After the Show
As hopeful as we may be while watching relationships form on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, the couples end up splitting more times than not. While few contestants have found true love on the show, many ended up finally finding love after their time with the franchise had ended.
While these Bachelor and Bachelorette contestants may not have been lucky on the show, they did find love afterward.
Wells Adams quickly became a Bachelor Nation favorite after competing for JoJo Fletcher’s heart on Season 12 of The Bachelorette. He’s still a recurring member of the Bachelor franchise, but he’s no longer on the hunt for love. Adams got a job as the Bachelor in Paradise bartender, where he hilariously commentates and makes some delicious-looking cocktails.
Adams may have kissed his friend, Danielle Maltby, in Paradise, but he actually ended up finding love outside of the show. He’s now dating actress Sarah Hyland, and things are clearly getting pretty serious. Adams, who has been living in Nashville, decided to make the move to Los Angeles to live with his girlfriend.
They’ve had a long-distance relationship up until now, and Hyland explained to People how they’ve made it work. “He’s a friggin’ trooper and always flying out here every weekend or every other weekend to see me if my schedule has been too busy to see him — which it has been in 2018 with awards season and with [Modern Family].” she continued. “But yeah — I don’t think it’s hard if the love is there.”
Not many Bachelor contestants deserved to find love more than Melissa Rycroft. As the winner of Jason Mesnick’s season of The Bachelor, Rycroft thought she’d found her person. Mesnick clearly wasn’t on the same page, and ended up leaving her for his runner-up, Molly Malaney — on the After the Final Rose ceremony.
As controversial as the moment may have been, it all seemed to work out for the best. Rycroft rekindled her romance with Tye Strickland, who she married in 2009, and they’ve since had three children together.
After appearing as a contestant on Season 11 of The Bachelor, DeAnna Pappas got the chance to be front-and-center as the Bachelorette in 2008. She became engaged to the winner of her season, Jesse Csincsak, but they called off the wedding after the show.
Pappas ended up finding love after all — and with someone in the Bachelor franchise family. She wed Stephen Stagliano in October 2011, whose brother, Michael Stagliano, competed on Jillian Harris’ season of The Bachelorette. They’ve even had two children together, so their path to finding love was clearly meant to be.
After many attempts at finding “the one,” Emily Maynard finally seems to be happy. She first appeared on Brad Womack’s season of The Bachelor, and ended up winning the whole thing. They called off their engagement, however, which launched Maynard into becoming the next Bachelorette. She chose Jef Holm in the end, but they called it quits after the show, too.
She eventually found love outside the franchise, and married Tyler Johnson in 2014, who has made her a mother of three.
Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon
Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon may have been love interests on Bachelor in Paradise in 2015, but it seemed they’d never actually end up together. Haibon’s feelings weren’t as strong as Iaconetti’s, and her heart was left broken time and time again.
Although the two remained friends after the show, Haibon finally realized he was in love with Iaconetti. He wrote her a heartfelt love letter after her relationship with her Bachelor Winter Games co-star, Kevin Wendt, had ended. The letter won Iaconetti over, and as of June 2018, the two ended up getting engaged.
