In 2010 Mark Zuckerberg got a lot of media attention for his dubious role in “founding” Facebook (see “The Truth Behind Facebook’s Founding is Finally Revealed“). He also got a lot of Facebook users’ attention by pushing the envelope with personal privacy online.
But does this really make Zuckerberg the most important person of the year?
Honestly, I think TIME is a bit behind the curve here since Facebook really made the mark in 2009. That’s the year Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) really took notice at the competition.
Although it would have been an editorial nightmare to change winners last minute, IMHO 2010 really belongs to all the persons who in aggregate are Wikileaks (not Julian Assange who was a runner-up).
Well, that’s my 2 cents. Do you think Mark Zuckerberg was worthy of TIME Person of the Year? If not, who would you have selected? Let us know in the comments below …
