Katie Maloney

As if writing a book wasn’t a big enough accomplishment, Katie Maloney brings a lot of experience to the Film team as its Section Editor. After graduating college, Katie started working as a writer for a reality TV dating show, but she moved into film-focused writing work shortly thereafter. She loves the way movies have the power to depict experiences that many people feel alone in experiencing, and she’s experienced this behind the scenes and in front of the camera as an actor.

Katie absolutely admires Chloé Zhao for her work on Nomadland and Phoebe Waller-Bridges for her authentic dark comedy in Fleabag. She’s also worked for a film production website where she wrote articles about all aspects of film production including interviews with award-winning movie directors and writers.

Katie graduated with Bachelor Degrees in both Digital Film Production and Communications with a concentration in Journalism from Chatham University. You can find more of her previous work at Outsider and Set Reel.
