Jessa Duggar takes a lot of grief for the way she raises her children, but the Counting On star could not care less about the haters. Although fans may disagree on some of her parenting decisions, Jessa is never afraid to express how she truly feels about raising her kids. Here’s a look at 10 times the Counting On star proved that she is the ultimate Duggar rebel when it comes to parenting.

10. The bottle pic

In 2017, Jessa shared a photo on Instagram of her toddler drinking water from a bottle. In the caption, Jessa revealed that her son loves drinking out of the bottle and that she wishes he was still breastfeeding. Duggar then told fans to let her know how using a sippy cup was a bad move in the comments.

9. Housecleaning 101

Jessa received a lot of criticism when she shared a photo of her messy house on social media. The image featured piles of laundry that were ready to be sorted, and Jessa admitted that it is difficult keeping up with chores and raising the kiddos at the same time — which is something most of us can relate to.

8. Potty training

As far as potty training her children, Jessa is not above bribing them. In a video posted on Instagram, Jessa revealed that she gives her children candy every time they have a successful trip to the bathroom. While this use of positive reinforcement is great, Jessa made sure the amount of sugar was minimal.

7. Baby carriers

With three children in the household (and more likely on the way), Jessa makes use of a baby carrier any chance she gets. Having her youngest in a carrier allows the reality star to complete chores around the house while still keeping an eye on everyone.

6. Jessa gets ahead of the drama

Whenever she posts photos of her children, Jessa makes sure that fans are fully aware what is going on. This usually comes in the form of a caption that provides a little more context about the situation. For example, Jessa will sometimes tell fans that she observed safety rules whenever she posts something that could be seen as dangerous.

5. Reusing toys

When you have children, reusing toys is a great way to save money. The Duggars may have gobs of money, but they are never afraid of being thrifty. For Jessa and her husband, Ben Seewald, they love hitting up the thrift store for some cheap toys, which makes for a fun time for the boys.

4. Jessa breaks from tradition

Jessa Duggar has been vocal about her parenting choices over the years and has made it clear that she is not going to follow all of her mom, Michelle Duggar’s, advice. That does not mean Jessa is starting from scratch, but she is more open about the whole process than her mom.

3. Not afraid of some drool

The reality star once shared a photo of her two boys during a trip to the local grocery store. Although the pic seemed innocent enough, fans were quick to notice that her youngest boy, Henry, had some drool bubbles on his face. Fans ripped Jessa for not wiping Henry’s mouth before taking the photo, but she seemed completely unfazed by the criticism.

2. Jessa’s laid back style

Jessa has been accused of being a little too laid back on several occasions, especially when it comes to safety. For example, Jessa has shared several photos and videos of her boys riding bicycles without helmets, which is a major thing among responsible parents. Despite the criticism, Jessa seems okay with her parenting style and is not about to switch things up now.

1. Supervision issues

Apart from the safety concerns, Jessa has also taken a lot of heat for not always supervising her children when they are playing in the house. In a recent video, fans watched as one of her children grabbed Seewald’s phone and completely destroyed it. Her Instagram followers pointed out that they could have saved some repair costs if Jessa was watching the kids a little closer.

While Jessa Duggar is clearly a rebel and unafraid to share her parenting journey with fans, there is no denying that she absolutely loves her children and would do anything for them.
