Amy Slaton-Halterman, star of the TLC series 1000-lb Sisters, shared that her dog, Little Bit, has died. Find out what the TLC star shared with fans about her Chihuahua’s death. Many 1000-lb Sisters fans supported Amy on social media to help her memorialize Little Bit.

Amy Slaton-Halterman’s dog Little Bit had lung cancer

On April 12, 2022, the TLC star posted a photo of Little Bit on Instagram. “Rip Little Bit,” she captioned the image. “I love you so much. 2000-2022.” 

Fans haven’t seen the dog much since the third season of 1000-lb Sisters, except for what Amy shared on social media. Amy elaborated on the health issues Little Bit experienced before she died in the comments of her post. 

“We took her to the vet five days ago for what we thought was allergies,” she wrote. “He did [an] x-ray and blood work [which revealed] she had bad lung cancer. We [kept] her on meds [and kept] her comfortable.”

The same day, Amy shared a video to her YouTube channel. The post contained photos of Little Bit set to instrumental music. 

‘1000-lb Sisters’ fans honor Little Bit on social media 

Many fans rallied around Amy in the comments of her Instagram and YouTube posts. “I’m so sorry for your loss,” said one fan on YouTube. “She will definitely be missed by many.” 

Another comment on Amy’s YouTube video reads: “I have always thought that Little Bit is one of the cutest dogs I’ve ever seen. I saw a clip earlier today of you and Little Bit was in it and I was again thinking how adorable she is. Now she’s in Heaven, happier than ever. We love you Little Bit.” 

“Oh no, not sweet Little Bit!” wrote another fan on Instagram. “She definitely lived a long loving life that you gave to her and now she’ll be your guardian angel for always! Sorry for your loss.” 

Many fans can’t believe how old Amy’s dog was. “Little Bit was 22-years-old … that is incredible in dog years!” said another Instagram user. “He was [another] star of the show with you and Tammy.” 

Amy’s dog appeared several times throughout three seasons of 1000-lb Sisters. Little Bit was beloved by Amy, her sister Tammy Slaton, her husband Michael Halterman, and her first-born son, Gage Halterman.

Amy, who once weighed more than 400 pounds, welcomed Gage in November 2020. Now, the TLC star is expecting her second boy, who is due to arrive in July 2022. As Amy revealed in a post to YouTube in January 2022, the couple will name their second son John Alan. Amy plans to call the newborn “John Boy” for short.
