Tammy Slaton goes back to rehab in ‘Never Say Never’

In the season 3 episode, Tammy has another meeting with Dr. Smith. But this time, Dr. Smith came directly to Tammy to talk about her overall health.

Speaking to Dr. Smith, Tammy detailed how her mental health had declined since she last saw him. “I don’t know how to ask for help,” Tammy told her doctor in the episode. “I think you just did,” Dr. Smith admitted.

Before Dr. Smith visited her, Tammy was drinking and vaping. “I know turning to alcohol and vaping … could be doing more damage, but I just want to be free,” Tammy admitted to Dr. Smith.

At the end of their conversation, Tammy wasn’t ready to go back to rehab, but she was willing to see a psychologist. A few weeks later, Tammy called Dr. Smith to inform him her mental health had “gotten worse” and that she was ready to reenter rehab.

‘1000-lb Sisters’ fans celebrate Tammy losing more than 100 pounds

As Chris documented in the “Never Say Never” episode, Tammy had lost 115 pounds in her first 30 days at the rehab facility. Fans of the TLC series took to Reddit to celebrate Tammy’s weight loss.

“Proud of Tammy,” wrote one 1000-lb Sisters fan. “Tammy has lost 115 pounds plus more since the show! I truly believe she will get her surgery and lost more weight! The ending was extremely sad to me, I know people don’t like Tammy but she’s human and I believe this time around she will succeed.”

“Hearing her MOM say she was proud,” another fan commented. In the episode, Darlene Slaton praised Tammy for deciding to go back to rehab. She also celebrated Tammy’s high school achievements. “And hearing her mom say that Tammy was the first Slaton girl to graduate high school with honors,” another fan shared

Another fan added: “I hope she can lose another 100 lbs and is able to walk and get around and continues moving in the right direction.”

‘1000-lb Sisters’ star hospitalized for carbon dioxide poisoning and pneumonia

In “Never Say Never,” Tammy’s siblings briefly mention her having to be hospitalized after Chris dropped her off at the rehab facility in Ohio. Thanks to Tammy’s post to TikTok from November 2021, we know Tammy ended up in the hospital from carbon dioxide poisoning.

“I ended up in the hospital because of carbon dioxide poisoning … which led into pneumonia and I was septic,” Tammy says in the video. “After I got off life support, they put a trach in, so I’m trying to get used to that.” Based on her most recent TikTok posts, it looks like Tammy is still a patient at the rehab facility
