Amy Slaton has been trying to get help for her sister, Tammy Slaton, for years. Throughout the first two seasons of 1000-lb Sisters, Tammy struggled to lose weight and get serious about eating healthier. Now, after checking out of her rehab facility, Tammy finally agreed to have an in-home nurse help her. But  TLC fans worry about how long the new nurse, Tisa, will last.

‘1000-lb Sisters’ fans bet on how long Tisa will last

After seeing how both Amy and Tammy treated Tisa during her first few days on the job, fans began taking bets on how long Tisa would be able to hold the role.

“Place your bets,” one fan wrote on Reddit. “She seems cool and easygoing and I think she’s building a good rapport with Tammy, but we know her client won’t stay on good behavior for long, and everyone has their limits.”

Some fans had a lot of faith in Tisa.

“Longer than most,” one user guessed. “Seems like she’s been around the medical field for a bit and you get really used to abusive patients and their families. And she seems like she’s figured out to almost treat Tammy like a 6-year-old and steer her in the direction she needs to go while making it seem like it was 100% Tammy’s idea. Which really, is the best way to go.”

Some fans thought it would actually be Amy who made Tisa quit.

“I feel like Amy will be the one to make her quit or fire her,” another commenter said. “So far, Tisa seems able to deal with Tammy and keep Tammy from getting really mad. But I guess Tisa’s only been there for a couple of weeks. Amy’s the one who seems to have a problem with Tisa, thinking Tisa’s not doing enough. I think Tisa’s doing a good job. She’s trying to meet Tammy where she’s at and trying to work with Tammy to make some progress and not have Tammy go into total shut down mode.”

Others felt that the producers would get the final say so.

“It won’t be Amy,” one fan wrote. “It’ll be however the producers write the script. Stay tuned for high drama!! As someone that has personal care home health come by for my spouse and have had three over the years, no one lets a good one go voluntarily! We’ve only lost them when they age out or move to administrative duties. Tisa seems like a good one.”

Tisa’s first day on the job

Tisa had a lot to adjust to during her first day on the job. Amy pulled her aside toward the beginning of her shift to let her know that Tammy tended to have a bad attitude when things weren’t going her way. Shortly after that, Tisa got to see Tammy’s attitude firsthand when they tried cooking together and Tammy quickly got frustrated. However, Tisa seemed well-equipped to deal with Tammy’s moods.

“Once she gets mad like that, and she don’t have the things that she wants, you gotta kind of push her,” Tisa told the cameras after Tammy’s temper tantrum. “I don’t want her to never say that, ‘I can’t.’ That’s not gonna go. She can do it.”
