1000-Lb Sisters star Chris Combs has been very frank about what drives him to lose weight and maintain a healthier lifestyle. For Chris, family is a big deal, especially because he lost his father at a young age.

“The main reason I want surgery is because my dad passed away at age 57. He was between 400-500 pounds. I am 41. I want to be around my family. They are my everything,” Combs said on the show.

He went on to explain that his job as a manager at McDonald’s can make his weight-loss journey challenging, and that he feels as if being surrounded by fast food had a serious impact on what he ate on a daily basis.

“The struggle is real. You are used to eating a five-gallon bucket of food at once and you cut down to a plate. So hangry is the real sh*t,” Combs said on 1000-Lb Sisters.

“At the last doctor’s appointment I went in, the doctor said I had to lose 15 pounds. Dieting sucks because I am used to eating everything I cook. I am a manager at a fast-food restaurant, if I am at work there is food around me,” he said.
