Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 2 has come to a close, and the anime left viewers with quite a few questions heading into its final arc. Now that Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 3 has been confirmed, we can expect satisfactory answers to those in 2023. But what exactly does the series need to tie up before it takes its final bow? These are our five most pressing questions for when Eren Yeager and the rest of the characters return.

[Warning: This article contains spoilers for Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 2.]

1. How will Eren Yeager respond to the alliance?

Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 2 spent much of its run building to a confrontation between Eren Yeager and his former comrades. Once he started the Rumbling, the Survey Corps and Warriors from Marley vowed to stop it. And although it’s too late to save Marley, they’ll still attempt to prevent the Wall Titans’ destruction from reaching the rest of the world.

They’re hoping to do so without having to kill Eren. But that all depends on how Eren responds to their interference. Although the anime’s main character clearly cares about his friends, he’s determined to save Paradis Island at all costs. Will he be willing to sacrifice those he loves most to see his plans through?

2. Will ‘Attack on Titan’s main characters turn on each other again?

Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 3 doesn’t just need to show how Eren will react to the alliance’s plea for peace; it also needs to determine whether his response will cause the other characters to turn on each other.

For now, the Warriors from Marley have chosen to work with the Survey Corps to stop Eren. However, Mikasa and her friends have been unable to give a straight answer about what they’ll do if Eren refuses to stop the Rumbling.

Annie says she doesn’t want to fight amongst themselves anymore. But if it becomes a choice between Eren and the alliance, will Mikasa and Armin turn their backs on their comrades? The anime seems to be building to that decision. Hopefully, their choice won’t undo all the progress they’ve in recent chapters.

3. Will Falco learn to control his Titan?

Falco Grice joins Attack on Titan in season 4, and he inherits the Jaw Titan in part 2. It’s unlikely the anime would give him one of the Titan Shifters without a reason. So, it seems natural that Falco will play a prominent role in the series’ final episodes.

Of course, Falco will need to learn to control the Jaw Titan before using it to the alliance’s advantage. His first transformation didn’t go so well, emphasizing the need to master his power. Will fans get to see him in control of it before Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 3 is through? We certainly hope so.

4. Will Mikasa and Eren confess their feelings for one another?

Eren and Mikasa have spent multiple seasons dancing around their feelings for one another, and Attack on Titan Season 4 has opened a chasm between them. Episode 87 reveals that Mikasa wasn’t entirely honest about how she views their relationship. And Eren previously pushed her away. Needless to say,

With Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 3 bringing the anime to an end, it offers one last chance for these two to clear the air. Will they get the chance to confess their true feelings for one another? After seeing them separated for most of the current outing, it would be a nice way to end things.

5. Can Levi still fulfill his promise to Erwin?

Levi Ackerman has spent recent seasons of Attack on Titan focused on one thing: fulfilling his final promise to Erwin. The former commander of the Scouts asked him to eliminate the Beast Titan. And although Levi has had two thrilling confrontations with Eren’s half-brother, he’s yet to deliver a killing blow.

Zeke is currently trapped in the Paths, so it’s unclear if Levi will ever get the opportunity to grant Erwin’s dying wish. However, he still seems determined to do so. Perhaps we’ll get another match between Zeke and Levi in Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 3.

6. Can Paradis Island secure a peaceful future?

The entire reason for Attack on Titan Season 4’s conflict is to secure a future for Paradis Island, and part 3 will need to determine if that’s possible. Although Eren’s friends don’t agree with his methods, they have a similar end goal in mind. So, can the show’s main characters stop the Rumbling and establish peace?

It’s hard to see how they’ll manage, especially now that Eren has threatened the rest of the world. As Floch Forster mentions, other nations are likely to retaliate if the Eldians don’t go through with the Rumbling. It’ll take some quick thinking and good luck to get everything they’re fighting for. For their sakes, we hope they come up with something.

7. What happens to the Power of the Titans?

‘Attack on Titan’: It Looks Like Eren and Mikasa Both Lied to Each Other

With the conflict between Paradis Island and Marley taking centerstage in Attack on Titan Season 4, it’s easy to forget that the anime started with the characters wanting to rid the world of the Titans. Part 2 took the time to explain how these beings originated in the first place. Could the final arc see them taking their leave?

That seems the only way to end the cycle of violence, and it would certainly create a better future for Eldians. Ymir Fritz’s arrival — and backstory — could hold the key to eliminating the man-eating creatures. Whether that’s actually in the cards is another story.
