You can remove the bladder. You can do chemotherapy to save the bladder. Mine couldn’t be saved. It was past that point.”
The father of seven reveals, “So I have a ostomy bag that my urine flows into. And it’s always going to be like that for the rest of my life.”
Chuck’s daughter, Jenn Potthast, opens up about how her father’s cancer affected her. She says, “Seeing my dad go through what he went through with his cancer, it was very traumatizing.”
The 60-year-old patriarch is cancer-free and eager to see what the rest of his life has in store. He said, “But I’m at a point in my life, now that things have turned around.”

Why Chuck is nervous about dating
While Chuck is finally eager to start living life, cancer-free, according to his desires, he’s nervous about how his health issues will be received by potential dates.
He says, “So the biggest obstacle that I have to overcome from dating is like telling women, you know, my dates, about my physical situation.” He admits, “It’s going to take a special person for me to commit.”
In the episode, Chuck goes to speak to a relationship coach, Joy, to help him figure out what is stopping him from finding love. He opened up about how using an ostomy bag has made him insecure about getting intimate with someone.
When asked if he’s ready to open himself up to a relationship, he replied, “I don’t know. We’ll see. But I think Joy, is going to help me with that.”
There have been many 90 Day Fiancé stars who have opened up about wanting to date Chuck. Laura Jallali from 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way Season 1 revealed that she’d be interested in dating the Potthast patriarch.
