Ariela and Biniyam finally had their baby boy on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. The New Jersey native had to unexpectedly have a C-section since the baby was in breech and she had low amniotic fluid.

Biniyam made a comment to the camera about how he didn’t want Ariela to have a C-section because women love their babies more when they give birth naturally. The comment didn’t sit well with Ariela and caused a fight between the couple.

Ariela has an unexpected C-section

Ariela told Entertainment Tonight that she cries when she sees the footage from the day she gave birth to Aviel.

“I just remember how scared I felt,” she told the site. “It was not a wonderful moment when I just woke up [from anesthesia] because the last thing I remember is like, them telling me, ‘We gotta do this now,’ and I’m like, ‘No, because I’m not ready. You can’t do it if I’m not ready,’ and they’re like, ‘We have to.’ … When I woke up, honestly, I was just in so much pain that I couldn’t really focus on anything else.”

But after Aviel was born, Ariela says she and Biniyam felt incredibly close as a family.

“After the baby’s born, having that moment where we’re together, it was like, any problem that we ever had before, like, it didn’t matter because we experienced this moment together,” she said.

Biniyam’s comments about Ariela’s C-section

However, Ariela didn’t appreciate Biniyam’s comments to the cameras about women who have C-sections. He said, according to his culture, women who give birth naturally love their babies more than women who give birth via C-section.

Ariela told the publication that the comments sparked an argument.

“It was a point of contention between us,” she said. “I don’t see how he could think that you could love your baby more or less, but, he’s a little bit superstitious, so, it’s something that we did argue about.”

She added that Biniyam told her even before she gave birth that he didn’t want her to have a C-section.

Ultimately, Ariela feels Biniyam made a “stupid” comment because he’s “human.”

“I know that other women are going to beat him up for that because that’s such a silly thing to say,” she said. “I think he’s gonna catch a lot of heat for it, rightfully so. But, you know, sometimes we believe and say stupid things, so, you know, we’re human.”
