However, the conservative religious sect he preached to is in his rearview mirror. He escaped from the confinement of that religion and divorced his wife, but troubled times lay ahead for Ben. He experienced homelessness for some time before eventually landing a gig as a model. A fitness magazine hired Ben for modeling work, and that’s how his relationship with Mahogany began.
Ben seems confident that his and Mahogany’s shared religious beliefs are enough to make this relationship last for the long haul. Despite their 28-year age difference, Ben is sure that Mahogany is the one for him.
Who is Mahogany on ‘90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days’ Season 5?
Mahogany is 24 years old and lives in San Bartolo, Peru. Mahogany first noticed Ben modeling for a fitness magazine and decided to reach out through her DMs. Their relationship took off, and soon the two were chatting regularly and bonding over their love of Christianity. The couple finally meets in person in Before the 90 Days Season 5. However, their relationship isn’t necessarily smooth sailing.
Ben’s family and friends see multiple red flags with his and Mahogany’s relationship
Fans of Before the 90 Days know that family and friends of almost all the couples featured always find at least one red flag. Ben’s family seems scared that Mahogany might not be who she says she is. In one of the Before the 90 Days Season 5 teaser trailers, fans learn that Ben and Mahogany have never video-chatted. This means that Ben has never actually seen the face behind all those intimate messages he’s receiving. This sets off alarm bells for his friends and family due to the fear he’s being catfished.
This wouldn’t be the first time catfishing has played a part in a Before the 90 Days’ couple’s storyline. Regular viewers might remember David and Lana from 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days Season 4. David dealt with a similar situation as Lana always had an excuse for why they couldn’t speak on the phone or video chat. She stood him up several times when he traveled to her home country of Ukraine. Viewers suspected David was being catfished when he revealed at the tell-all that he and Lana were no longer together. Since then, it’s come to light that Lana chose not to appear because the engagement wasn’t real. She even answered questions from Before the 90 Days fans and revealed that “90% of the show was scripted.”
