The ’90 Day Fiancé’ star met Liz Marie on the spinoff ‘The Single Life’

90 Day Fiancé fans first met Big Ed on season 4 of Before the 90 Days when he traveled to the Philippines to meet Rosemarie. That relationship didn’t last, so he moved on to the spinoff The Single Life. Which focused on Big Ed finding love again with the help of relationship pros.

During season 1 of The Single Life, Ed — a photographer based in San Diego — met single mom Liz Marie while she was working as a manager at a restaurant. The two started chatting, and he quickly developed feelings. The duo eventually went from being just friends to dating.

Ed and Liz Marie became quite the popular couple on the spinoff. But the 28-year-old Liz wanted to take things slowly. While the 55-year-old Ed was ready to take things to the next level.

Big Ed and Liz Marie’s relationship didn’t end well

Towards the end of the season, Big Ed asked Liz Marie to move in with him. But she wasn’t ready to take that next step, explaining that it was too soon. Still, she reluctantly agreed. Then things took a drastic turn when the couple showed up at the postseason Tell-All.

Liz claimed Ed was extremely jealous, abusive, and rude towards her. She also revealed that he asked her to move out a couple of times. After several fiery fights, they ended up having a blow-up while filming the Tell-All and declared the relationship over.

Is the ’90 Day Fiancé’ star engaged?

Despite having a tumultuous relationship the first time around, it looks like Ed and Liz are giving their romance a second chance. According to a post from a 90 Day Fiancé fan that was shared on Reddit, the couple was recently spotted together in Santa Barbara.

The fan and her husband allegedly sat next to Ed and Liz, and she was reportedly wearing a massive engagement ring described as “quite the rock.” Liz was also “all over Ed,” according to the eyewitness. The fan claimed that Ed and Liz recently got engaged and appeared to be very happy together.

Could Big Ed’s engagement be a ratings stunt?

Big Ed has been one of the most-talked about personalities in the 90 Day Fiancé franchise since his debut, but he’s also been quite divisive. Some fans were not thrilled to hear about the engagement, and shared their theory that Ed and Liz were faking it to get another season in the popular TLC reality franchise.

Others see Ed as a “master manipulator of deeply troubled women like Liz.” They pointed to a leaked phone call between the couple where he ended up making her cry.

“He was mean af to her in that phone convo we heard! This is un fricking real,” one fan wrote.

’90 Day Fiancé’ fans believe Liz could do better

One 90 Day Fiancé fan shared her disgust about Big Ed’s engagement news, saying she is “so discouraged with people.”

“Why do men like him always seem to come out on top?” the fan asked. “I’m so discouraged with people anymore. I hope Liz gets the help she needs to feel good enough about herself to realize she deserves better than that cretin.”

Another fan replied, “Ed’s in a sense, trash TV gold, so they try to portray him as better than he actually is. If the truth came out, more of us would boycott….He preys upon vulnerable much younger women. It only appears as if he comes out on top. I think Ed is a repulsive person and I refuse to watch him at this point.”
