Each couple is unique in the sense that they are not entering into a traditional relationship that most of us dream of for our entire lives. Instead, they have actually never met the person that they intend to exchange vows with, only speaking to them online. As such, couples travel to other countries and have just 90 days to marry another person in order to begin the process of obtaining a K-1 visa.

As just about anyone can imagine, it’s not exactly the whirlwind romance that we see in the movies, where two people realize immediately that they were meant to be, and they get married and never look back. In fact, Big Ed Brown and Rose Vega were one of the most volatile couples on the show, keeping fans entertained with a turbulent relationship that had more than proved to be unpredictable. Big Ed and Rose’s relationship

Brown and Vega are an unusual couple, to say the least. There is quite an age gap between the two, with Brown being 54 years old, and Vega more than 30 years younger, at only 23 years old.

The couple met on social media and had a cyber relationship for months before the show started. However, things were rocky from the very beginning, with Brown not being honest about his appearance before they met in person.

Naturally, Vega was a little shocked, but, surprisingly, that isn’t the oddest part of their relationship. The couple is pretty rude to each other, never paying compliments as other people in relationships do. Fans were always left wondering what, exactly, they saw in each other, since they never acted even remotely sweet as a couple who is planning to get married is known for.

Things got so bad that Vega decided to end the relationship, being more than fed up with how she was being treated by the man who was supposed to love her. 

Ed tried to prove that Rose was cheating on him

One of the most significant points in the relationship between Brown and Vega is when he tried to prove that she hadn’t exactly been faithful. In fact, he used the fact that she was in a relationship with another woman as proof that she was cheating.

According to Screenrant, Vega admitted to the affair, and although he was extremely angry about the entire situation, she didn’t feel as if there was anything wrong with what she did.

So, how did Ed’s attempt to badmouth his ex-fiance backfire in such a huge way?

Well, as it would turn out, fans didn’t exactly take his side. Quite a few people actually came to her defense, calling him out for how he treated her. Most people feel that the nasty attitude, and doing things such as calling her “gross,” and asking her to “shave her legs,” was simply unacceptable, and it is widely agreed that Vega just didn’t deserve that.

Secondly, by using her relationship with someone of the same gender, Brown was trying to humiliate Vega, and fortunately, it didn’t work. Fans were disappointed in the homophobic undertones of Big Ed’s accusations and that he would twist her arm into coming out. Rose ultimately admitted to being involved with a woman — after she broke up with Big Ed — and fans were not impressed by how Rose didn’t have control over when she came out to the world.

Lastly, Big Ed got slammed by the women of the TLC series. Darcey Silva openly called out Big Ed and offered her empathy to Rose. She told Big Ed women should be uplifted. Baby Girl Lisa even questioned Big Ed on whether he truly loved Rose and told him that no woman would tolerate his behavior. Avery chimed in to see he seemed inauthentic.

Former TLC stars have spoken out against Big Ed, reports ScreenRant. Tim Malcolm, for example, called Big Ed “delusional.”

Big Ed tried to contact her long after they called it quits on their relationship, but luckily, she stood her ground and made it clear that she was ready to move on. As for his attempts to drag Vega, fans, critics, and current and past TLC stars all sided with Vega.
