Ariela Weinberg is coming dangerously close to her due date on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way yet it’s becoming more and more apparent that there is a lot that she doesn’t know about her partner Biniyam Shibre. She recently revealed to her family that Shibre had previously married another American woman and had a kid with her. Now, he has come clean about what caused his ex to end the relationship.

Biniyam’s former relationship

Shibre was with his ex for around six months before she got pregnant. The two then wed and were married for four years. Though Shibre has not been very forthcoming about the details of his previous marriage, some fans have been able to find out facts.

According to Starcasm, Shibre was married to a woman named Bria who had been working with impoverished children in Ethiopia. The two were married in June 2016 in Addis Ababa. The pair originally planned for Shibre to come to the United States but his visa was denied.

Why did Biniyam’s ex wife break up with him?

On last night’s episode of The Other Way, Weinberg’s mom began questioning Shibre about his past relationship. During the conversation, she asked what happened with Shibre’s ex-wife. Shibre told her that his ex found messages from other women and assumed that something was going on between them. Shibre insisted that the women were just friends and that nothing had been going on.

Not satisfied, Weinberg’s mom continued her line of questioning.

“You were married to an American,” she said. “You find another American and now you’re having a baby with another American. Is your plan to come to the United States with an American wife? What’s your plan with Ari?”

Shibre insisted that he does not have some master plan to move to America and actually wants to buy a house in Ethiopia.

How does Ariela feel about all of this?

When Weinberg went back to Ethiopia, she really realized that she didn’t know as much about Shibre or his financial situation as she thought she did.

“You know, in a way it’s true, I barely even knew him, but at the same time, when you meet someone and you have that connection, you can feel like you know someone even if it’s only been a couple of months,” she recently told Entertainment Tonight. “I decided that I wanted to try at least the experience of being together because I really wanted to start my own family.”

And she understands that things may not work out between them in the long run, but still doesn’t regret her decision to be with Shibre or go to Ethiopia.

“The first thing I’ll say is, I got a baby boy out of it, so, it didn’t go too bad,” she said. “The other thing I’ll say is, you know, in relationships, whether you end up with the person forever or not, you definitely learn something from them and you grow as a person and you learn something about yourself, so, I don’t think it’s a loss either way.”
