’90 Day Fiancé’: Blake Gets Real About His and Jasmin’s ‘Exaggerated’ Storyline

90 Day Fiancé fans always want to know how “real” the show is. Are actors ever hired? Is any of it scripted?

Blake Abelard was interviewed by The Domenick Nati Show on June 29 and asked if he feels the show is “fake.” He doesn’t, but he thinks it’s exaggerated.

“I can see that things, to an extent, have been exaggerated. I’m not gonna say, ‘Oh, this is completely false.’ But, you know, there are things that have been exaggerated that made it seem like worse than it was, or worse than it is,” he said.

Blake Abelard says ’90 Day Fiancé’ fans didn’t get the whole story

90 Day fans will remember that it appeared that Blake’s wife, Jasmin Lahtinen, didn’t like his music. Blake says that’s not entirely true.

“For example, the music thing. She doesn’t like my music or whatever. Obviously, when we’re being filmed we’re talking about it, but you don’t hear the full conversation. You hear little parts of it. So it seems that way. Yeah, of course, we said it. But it depends on the context. You don’t know the context of how we say it,” he said.

Since Blake has watched other seasons of 90 Day Fiancé and knows the couples in real life, he understands that sometimes people are misrepresented. So he at least sees why viewers think the way they do.

“I really can’t be mad at the viewers for that, now that we get it. But it is annoying. Because you didn’t know how it would be,” he said, adding later that he “get[s] it because I get to see the other seasons and the other couples and what they’re used to.”

Mostly, Blake is disappointed that many of the positive aspects of his relationship with Jasmin were left out.  

“We shot crazy cool stuff that was left out. So it just seems like my friends are nagging her, she’s not getting along with them, she hates my music, she’s using me, and she just wants to be with her sister. But the stuff that was actually cool and loving and nice, you know, you missed,” he said.

Will Blake and Jasmin ever be on ’90 Day Fiancé’ again?

Despite the exaggerated editing, Blake says he and Jasmin are open to appearing on another 90 Day Fiancé show.

“I’m down to do it. After you do the first one, the first 90 Day thing, it’s like the initiation. Whatever else happens. So, yeah, we’re open to it,” he said.

In particular, he feels Pillow Talk “seems fun.” 

“I talked to Lauren a couple times. She’s cool,” he said.
