Corey Rathgeber asks his brother to come to his wedding to Evelin Villegas

On the Nov 21 episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way (via discovey+), Corey calls his brother, Matt, to invite him to his wedding. With the wedding only two weeks out, Corey is trying to get at least one member to be there. Corey reveals, “There’s a bunch of people coming on Evelin’s side, and not one person has agreed to come on my side.”

He asks his brother if he will be able to make it, and Matt says, “Unfortunately, no.” He says, “I won’t be able to make it.” Matt explains that because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic causing travel to be halted, it’s just not a good time to be traveling. Corey says, “It’s a real bummer for me. He explains that his mother won’t come because of her fear of traveling. And since his father died in Jan 2019, his mother doesn’t feel comfortable traveling to Ecuador alone. Corey tells his brother that he feels disappointed that he “doesn’t feel that support in return” from him.

Corey’s brother confirms that Evelin caused a divide in the family

Corey says, “My relationship with everybody, I feel like has deteriorated, and I don’t like feeling the sense of separation.” Matt explains, “We obviously are family, and we love you, but the past three or four years you’ve been down in Ecuador and, yeah, we have grown apart.”

He says, “It’s not been easy, given our past relationship with Evelin.” Corey explains to the cameras that when Evelin was living in the US, things were terrible. Corey described the time as “really sad” and “really hard.” He admitted that Evelin kept to herself and didn’t speak to his family.

Did Evelin keep Corey from his family?

On 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season one, Evelin gave Corey an ultimatum to either move to Ecuador or they’re over. That’s when Corey sold everything and moved to be with Evelin in Engabao. However, Corey’s family is still very bitter about the move. Matt says, “We were best friends growing up, and now we’re not. And I think big reason for that was [the] relationship with Evelin.”

He says, “The last time I saw you is when Evelin was here and we were not on great terms. And she demanded that you go live in Ecuador with her … It sucks that she demanded that of you.” Matt tells Corey, “It seems like Evelin just makes decisions based upon what she wants. She doesn’t take your opinions into consideration.” Matt tells Corey that he does support his marriage with Evelin. But he has “reservations” about it “because of all of the past disagreements we had. She’s keeping you away from the United States and our family.”

Evelin only interacted in one episode of the entire three seasons that they have been featured on The Other Way. It appears that Evelin has been not making an effort for Corey’s family and, at the same time, demands him to learn Spanish for her family. Will Corey go through with the wedding knowing that he will not have a single person on his side? Fans will have to wait and see.
