’90 Day Fiancé’: Deavan Clegg’s Mom Finally Reveals the Truth About Deavan’s Split From Jihoon Lee
Deavan Clegg and Jihoon Lee are done, and according to Deavan’s mom, Elicia Clegg, things have been over between the 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way stars for a while. Since the breakup, Deavan has moved on and now has a new boyfriend. She has also accused Lee of doing horrible things to her daughter, Drascilla. Now, Elicia is finally revealing what caused Deavan and Lee’s breakup.
Deavan and Jihoon’s relationship
This season on The Other Way, Deavan decided to move to Korea to be with Lee. But as soon as she got there, things went south. It turned out that Lee didn’t actually have a full-time job like he promised her and that he hadn’t been saving money.
While the show was on hiatus, Lee revealed that he and Deavan had broken up. Deavan began receiving a lot of backlash for moving on and finding a new boyfriend while she was still married to Lee. On Sep. 22, she took to her Instagram Stories to defend herself.
“Woke up to a lot of hate mail,” she wrote. “I want to say this once: I’ve tried to get the divorce finished. Jihoon has not yet signed. I’ve been trying, so everyone leave me alone about that situation.”
Elicia reveals what led to the breakup
In an interview with blogger John Yates and Monica from All About The Tea, Elicia revealed that Deavan and Lee have actually been broken up for a while.
“It’s been over since January,” Elicia said. “I would actually even go further back … I saw them at the end of November [2019], and that’s when the relationship was over … It’s been that long.”
Elicia noted that cultural differences may have played a big part in the split.
“It’s way different than just American culture and Korean culture. You also have Utah culture,” she said.
She went on to describe how life in Utah was centered around children and Korea was not like that which made it hard for Deavan to adjust.
Abuse allegations against Jihoon Lee
Since the two split, Deavan has accused Lee of abusing Drascilla. She claimed that he pulled a chunk of the child’s hair out while Lee insists that he only pulled Drascilla’s hair to get her to behave in school.
“Jihoon’s trying to act like it’s Drascilla’s fault and that’s why he pulled her hair, but he’s making it sound like it was just like this, like ‘don’t hurt the other girls.’ No, it was 3 a.m., and I’m not even kidding. It’s like [a chunk] of her hair was gone. It was just one pull at 3 a.m. I heard her scream and I went to go see what was going on and then all that bad stuff happened,” she told All About The Tea.
Lee has claimed that Deavan has made up the allegations.
“And a month later, she suddenly said that I abused Drascilla and demanded a breakup,” he wrote in his Instagram Stories of what happened after he and Deavan broke up. “A month later, another man was imitating Taeyang’s father. Deavan made claims saying that Drascilla told Deavan that I had been abusing Drascilla. Drascilla told the truth that there was nothing to be said later on and Deavan was still going for the separation without confirming it with me.”
