‘90 Day Fiance’: Erika Owens’ Instagram Post Has Fans Thinking That She and Stephanie Matto Have Broken Up
Stephanie Matto and Erika Owens have had more obstacles to overcome than any couple on this season of 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days. They were the first same-sex couple on the show and neither one of them came out to their parents before entering the relationship. On top of that, the two haven’t seen eye-to-eye on most things throughout the course of this season. Now, a new Instagram post has fans thinking that the pair may have called it quits for good.

Matto and Owens met over social media and fell in love without even meeting one another. They decided to go on the show to document their relationship, but being the first LGBTQ couple on 90 Day Fiance brought a lot of added stress to the relationship.
“I feel like there’s a lot of pressure — you don’t want to let anybody down,” Matto told Entertainment Tonight. “You don’t want to let down the LGBTQ community and a part of me wants to be like, great representation for this community, but also I think we all just need to realize we’re just like any other couple. We’re gonna have just similar problems to all the other couples on the show. I hope that people come into this with an open mind and give us a chance to share our story.”
Throughout the season, Matto has gotten a lot of flack about being fake and possibly just using the show for fame because she is already an internet personality.
“I think people will definitely be skeptical, you know, I’m a social media influencer, I’m a YouTuber, so people already just question, ‘OK well, why is this girl doing this?” she said. “Is it all just for attention or whatever?’ But honestly, this is how I’ve always been. I’ve always aired my life out on YouTube. I’m a storyteller and I like being open and honest and vulnerable because I want to make people feel less alone. I want others to feel understood because, for such a long time, I felt really misunderstood. I really felt like no one knew who I was and what I was really going through. There’s a lot of stigma in the LGBTQ community but there’s also a lot of stigma for bisexuals. For a lot of people, it’s not taken seriously — even within the LGBTQ community, it’s like, ‘Oh, why can’t you just choose?’ … There’s lots of issues tackled this season, so everyone will have to stay tuned and see.”
Fans think Erika and Stephanie broke up
During her time in Australia, it seemed that Matto got angry with Owens about every little thing. On Sunday night’s episode, the two finally were able to get on the same page and shared a really beautiful dinner where Owens came out to her family. But a recent post on Owens’ Instagram is making fans think the lovers may have split.
The reality star recently posted a pic of her smiling alone with the caption, “Back on my beat, party for one.”
Fans immediately began commenting with their thoughts.
“I also think Steph was not into girls but did for the show. I’m not bi but I would show you more love and affection,” one fan wrote.
“You’re so much better off without Steph,” another person said. “We love and adore you and your strength!”
Some fans were angry at the way that Matto treated Owens throughout the show.
“She shouldn’t have kissed Erika like that on night 1 if she was just going to be a fridged prude the rest of the time,” one person said of Matto. “I 100% understand that Steph said it was her “persona” online HOWEVER, once you start a 1 on 1 relationship you tell your person, ‘hey just so ya know I play up the sexy angle but that’s not really me.’ You don’t lead people on thinking one thing and then getting mad at them when you’re the one who led them to believe stuff you KNOW isn’t you….. @glitterbuggin deserves FAR BETTER anyway.”
