90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days star David Murphey has some interesting thoughts on Yolanda’s catfishing scandal. Many viewers believe that David is the victim of his own catfishing scheme with his romantic interest, Lana, after he paid her hundreds of thousands of dollars over the course of seven years. With David facing his own scamming scandal, many fans feel like he does not have any room to comment on Yolanda’s situation.

Where do things stand with David and Lana on ’90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days’?

David and Lana ended season 4 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days on a high note after she accepted his proposal. While fans were still convinced that Lana is playing David, he confirmed during the season 4 tell-all that they are no longer together.

During the tell-all, David revealed that Lana is open to spending the rest of her life with him but she also hasn’t responded to his messages for an entire week.

“She told me a couple weeks ago that all she wanted was a white picket fence and a simple life with me, traveling in the RV. She loves that idea, but right now, today, I think we’re not together,” he stated.

According to In Touch Weekly, David added that they might be able to salvage their relationship and get back together, but for now, things are not headed in the right direction.

Although David still doesn’t think Lana is scamming him, several of his co-stars tried to tell him that she is only in it for the money. At one point in the tell-all, Ed “Big Ed” Brown told David that his relationship with Lana is nothing more than a “business transaction.”

David is in denial about his relationship

To make things even sketchier, Lana has not deleted her profile on the dating website that David originally found her on. Even after she accepted his proposal, she refused to get off the website, a move he believes is totally normal.

David explained how many of the foreign women on dating websites do not delete their profiles until after they have moved to the United States. But this contradicts what David said in the season 4 finale of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days.

In that episode, David told viewers that the real reason Lana was still on the dating site was that she just got a manicure and she could not delete her account because her nails were too long.

“She didn’t get off the site. It was difficult for her to manipulate the iPhone keyboard with her nails and stuff,” he shared. “It wasn’t comfortable for her.”

David, who is clearly in denial at this point, added that Lana is only using the site to chat with her friends, not to find potential mates.

David reveals how much he has paid Lana over the years

Despite all of the evidence that points towards Lana scamming David, he remains adamant that they have a future together. There has been a lot of speculation about how much money David has given Lana over the years, and he recently revealed that the amount is staggering.

According to Cinema Blend, David has forked over around a quarter of a million dollars to Lana, who still refuses to come to America and tie the knot.

“I mean to be honest, it’s probably a quarter million to $300,000 or so,” David revealed.

Between the money and the fact that Lana is still on the dating website, you would think that David would finally get the hint. Instead, he seems perfectly content with believing that he and Lana could still exchange vows.

What does his ’90 Day Fiancé’ co-star think about David’s situation?

With David’s drama playing out in season 4 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, Yolanda recently weighed in on the situation. In a recent interview, Yolanda revealed that she thinks David is in complete “denial” of what is really happening, especially considering how long he has been talking to Lana.

“I think David is in denial because seven years is a long time,” Yolanda stated. “I thought seven months for me was long.”

Yolanda, of course, was involved in her own catfishing scheme on the show. For seven months, she talked to a man she met online named William.

William said he was Manchester in the UK, but his story quickly unraveled after her children discovered that the photos he posted were stock images.
