’90 Day Fiancé’: Elizabeth Says It’s ‘Sexy’ When Andrei ‘Isn’t an ‘A**hole’ in New Sneak Peek

Elizabeth Potthast Castravet hoped her husband, Andrei Castravet, would be on his best behavior when they greeted her mother, sister, and stepdad in Moldova in a new sneak peek of an upcoming episode of TLC’s ’90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After.’

90 Day Fiancé star Andrei Castravet has never seemed to get along with his wife Elizabeth Potthast Castravet’s family. But Andrei’s in-law issues reached a whole new level when the couple headed to his home country of Moldova with their young daughter, Eleanor, for their second wedding.

Charlie Potthast and Chuck Potthast, Elizabeth’s brother and father, pushed Andrei’s buttons by peppering him with questions about his sudden move to Ireland from Moldova before he met Elizabeth. Andrei took offense to their questions and nearly ended up in a physical fight with Charlie one night at a local restaurant.

In a new sneak peek of an upcoming 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After episode, Andrei and Elizabeth headed to the airport once again—this time to greet her sister, Jenn, as well as her mom, Pamela, and her stepdad, Walter—after Charlie and Andrei struck a tentative truce. Elizabeth hoped that Andrei would be on his best behavior this time around.

Andrei assured his wife that he would treat her family with respect

In the 90 Day Fiancé preview, Elizabeth and Andrei waited at the airport for Elizabeth’s sister, mom, and stepdad. Elizabeth explained that her parents, Pamela and Chuck, had been divorced since she was eight years old. But everyone in the family got along, so they were all staying together at the same AirBnB in Chisinau.

Andrei told TLC producers that he had assured his wife he’d be kind and welcoming to her family members—especially after the drunken debacle with Charlie just a few nights earlier. While Andrei and Charlie had agreed to remain civil after they nearly got into a physical fight, things between them were obviously still tense.

“I promised Elizabeth I would be nice,” Andrei said reluctantly, as Elizabeth acknowledged she was “nervous” about how the night would go. “But if Elizabeth’s family is gonna give me a hard time, I’m just gonna leave. I’m not gonna get in a fight again.”

As for Elizabeth, she just hoped her dad and brother wouldn’t broach the sensitive subject with her mom and sister.

“At this point, I haven’t spoken to my family about what went down at the restaurant the other night,” the 90 Day Fiancé star admitted. But because Andrei had already apologized to Charlie and Chuck, she hoped it would simply blow over.

Elizabeth’s sister made disparaging comments about Moldova after she arrived

Two of Elizabeth’s sisters hadn’t been able to come to Moldova because of their new babies, but Jenn immediately jumped in with enough commentary about Eastern Europe for all three of them.

“I have to say, my first impression is pretty much what I thought it would be,” Jenn told 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After producers with respect to Moldova, adding that she “wished she was in France.”

“It’s very gloomy and sad-looking,” Jenn complained. “It definitely doesn’t look like a European destination.”

As Andrei drove his in-laws back to their rental home, where his mother had prepared a large spread, Jenn continued in the same vein. She told her brother-in-law she didn’t understand how he didn’t get “depressed” in his home country, noting the grey skies and decaying architecture.

“God, no wonder you, like, wanted to move away from here,” Jenn told Andrei.

Andrei admitted that he was annoyed by his sister-in-law’s negative comments, but he didn’t want to let it affect him.

“Jenn is trying to push my buttons, as always,” Andrei complained. “She’s throwing cheap shots. I’m not falling for this tonight. But she better not be rude to my family.”

Andrei’s family gave Elizabeth’s mom, sister, and stepfather a warm welcome

Luckily, Andrei’s family gave Elizabeth’s relatives a warm welcome. The 90 Day Fiancé star’s mom had laid out a generous buffet, complete with ample red local wines and well-plated treats. She warmly embraced her son’s in-laws and gushed about how excited she was to have them there.

Elizabeth’s mom was grateful for the stellar hospitality. “We have been really excited to come here and meet the woman that created you,” Pamela gushed to Andrei.

Pamela threw in a bit of a dig at her son-in-law, however, when she compared him negatively to his much friendlier, gentler parents. “They’re very sweet people,” she said of Elizabeth’s mother- and father-in-law, “so I’m still not sure where Andrei gets his gruffness from.”

Elizabeth was relieved that the night didn’t end in an argument

As for Chuck and Charlie, they looked a bit uncomfortable about seeing Andrei for the first time since their argument and his apology, which Charlie dismissed as a “half-apology.”

Still, Elizabeth’s brother said he hoped to move on from the fight. “Hopefully, he doesn’t try to be a punk,” he said gruffly about Andrei. “We’ll see.”

Fortunately, the night seemed to go off without a hitch. Andrei translated for his relatives, and everyone seemed relaxed as they toasted Andrei and Elizabeth’s upcoming second wedding. They even began to sing the Moldovan and American national anthems.

Radu, Andrei’s brother, and Ina, Radu’s wife, told 90 Day Fiancé producers that they were glad to see Andrei feeling more at ease.

“I was so glad that Andrei was different today from the last days,” Radu said.

Elizabeth, too, was relieved. “It’s actually really sexy that you’re not being an a**hole,” the 90 Day Fiancé star quipped to her husband, who grinned in response.

Still, it seemed like the families’ sense of peace might be short-lived after all. Later 90 Day Fiancé preview clips from the same episode showed Elizabeth’s family plotting to unearth Andrei’s possible secret from his past.
