90 Day Fiancé fans have been watching Asuelu and Kalani with a keen eye during their new season of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After. This is largely a result of Asuelu’s behavior in the past, and during the current season so far. During a recent episode, Asuelu made some sexist remarks that have fans enraged. And it seems as if his behavior in the past had folks nonplussed as well. After Asuelu’s previous meltdown during a tell-all episode, one fan suggested that he’s autistic. Kalani’s sister Kolini, however, shut it down.

Asuelu gets sexist, rages at Kalani

Recent episodes of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After have made it clear to viewers that Asuelu holds some unsavory ideas about women. For example, Asuelu seemed shocked that his sons’ doctor was a woman — he thought she was the nurse.

Other similar views about women came to light during a car ride Asuelu and Kalani took to California with Kalani’s mother. Asuelu was upset that Kalani didn’t want to take their children to Samoa during a measles outbreak, and claimed that he feels as if he’s not the “man of the house.”

Asuelu went on to claim that women have it easy in the United States compared to Samoan women. When Kalani went on to point out that Asuelu doesn’t help out with the kids very often, he called her a “lying b*tch.” He then added, “And the sound of your voice is so f*cking annoying too.”

When Kalani’s mother stuck up for her daughter, telling Asuelu to watch how he speaks to her, he said that she’s his wife and he’ll behave however he wants towards her.

‘90 Day Fiancé’ fan claims Asuelu is autistic

During his first tell-all episode on 90 Day Fiancé, Asuelu had a moment of frustration. While other cast members were bickering, Asuelu seemed overwhelmed and annoyed, and started hitting himself in the head.

Some viewers decided it was time to play doctor, and tried to diagnose Asuelu — not really a kind move to begin with.

An Instagram user commented on one of Kolini’s posts, suggesting that he may be autistic. They wrote, “This is not meant to be [m]ean spirited, but there’s an elephant in the room, a lot of people are saying that Asuelu’s behavior shows signs of autism or some sort of delay or disorder, are you aware of him having Asperger’s syndrome or being someplace on the autism spectrum?”

They continued, “So many people are commenting that his behavior mimics that of those who do have such disorders. He doesn’t even understand the simple things such as spending money to help with the baby while he is in Samoa, he doesn’t understand things other people just see as second nature and know naturally. He struggles and it shows in his blank stares and reactions to certain situations. Just wondering if he may be delayed and that is why [Kalani] is nervous to leave the baby alone with him, which I would also be. Hopefully someone will get him the proper help to see if he does have any of these issues so he can be the best parent and partner for your sister.”

’90 Day Fiancé’ Fans Confused By Tania Maduro’s Bartending Job

Clearly this 90 Day Fiancé fan was making some pretty big assumptions, as well as sweeping statements about folks who are on the spectrum. Kalani’s sister was there to shut it down.

Kolini replied to the comment, writing, “My mom worked with autistic children for most of my life as a behaviorist. She instantly knows when someone is on the spectrum. I understand the way it looked when it seemed like he was in sensory overload — but that wasn’t at all the case. It was ‘I’m sick of f*cking taping’ overload.”

She added, “I’ve spent plenty of time with Asuelu to know that he’s not autistic. He’s not slow. The way he spoke in interviews isn’t the way you’d hear him speak in person or the way you’d hear him speak Samoan. If he was needing to be evaluated, my family would know.”
