As seen on ’90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After,’ Elizabeth’s family was critical of Moldova before they went there

Elizabeth and Andrei decided to host their second wedding in Moldova so that Andrei’s side of the family could attend. And as seen on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After, when Elizabeth presented the idea to her family, they did nothing but push back. Her sisters complained about the last-minute timing, and they called Moldova the “scariest place on Earth.”

Elizabeth’s father, Chuck Pothast, and brother, Charlie were the first of her family to land in Moldova. But as soon as they arrived, the two began complaining about the country’s weather and infrastructure.

“It’s cold and dreary,” Charlie told producers. “It’s not Tampa.”

And when Elizabeth’s sister Jen arrives with her mom, Pam, she complains about how “sad” the country looks. “I’ve gotta say my first impression is pretty much what I thought it would be,” Jen said in a confessional. “It’s very gloomy, sad-looking, and hell no, this doesn’t look like a European destination.”

Elizabeth’s family calls the country’s food ‘peasant food’

In a sneak peek for the next episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After, Elizabeth’s family shares their disgust for Moldovan food. While sitting around a table filled with bread and fruit, Jen complains and asks if she could just get eggs and bacon.

“I feel like I’m gonna lose weight while I’m here, because this food,” she asks, pointing at a plate of grapes, “Like I can’t eat any of it.”

Chuck and Charlie joined Jen and recalled the dinners they had with Andrei’s family and friends. “Andrei was over here eating that bread with the pork fat on it like it was nothing,” Charlie says. “Disgusting, dude!”

“They’re eating peasant food,” Chuck responds, to which Jen adds, “I’m sorry, like I’m open to trying stuff, but not some s–t like that.”

’90 Day Fiancé’: Happily Ever After fans call Elizabeth’s family disrespectful

As seen on the show, Elizabeth truly respects Andrei’s home country, his family, and their culture. She’s even trying to learn the language so she can communicate with his family.

But her family has been nothing but judgemental since they landed. And fans are calling them “disrespectful” for their behavior.

“It pissed me off to no end when Elizabeth’s family criticized Andrei’s parents’ feast as “peasant” food and poor quality,” a Reddit user wrote. “Especially when these two look like their blood is 90% McDonald’s fry grease and idea of fine dining is Olive Garden.”

“That whole family is disgusting and disrespectful,” another Redditor suggested. “You don’t walk into someone’s home and act that way and expect them to be quiet when they’ve tried to be respectful in yours. It’s a mutual respect taught around most of the world.”

On the show, it looks like Elizabeth’s family is just getting started when it comes to criticizing Moldova. Hopefully, by the time the wedding rolls around, they’ll learn to be just a little more gracious to their hosts.
