’90 Day Fiancé’ Fans Confused By Tania Maduro’s Bartending Job

90 Day Fiancé star Tania Maduro has never been a fan favorite. In fact, many were shocked by how she treated her South African lover, Syngin Colchester, during their time together on the show. Notably, Maduro left Colchester behind in the United States for 30 out of his 90 days for an herbal retreat in Costa Rica. Now, with the two filming a new season together, many are wondering what happened to Maduro’s herbalism goals. These days, Maduro seems to be tending bar instead.

Helloooo new and old followers, friends, and family! I'm Tania, 30, and loving life. Wanted to share more about me than what you know (south african fiance turned husband on TV). Living room dancing is one of my favorite things to do. I love cleaning on a beautiful morning with bachata blasting, game nights with friends, camping, baths, reading and much more. I'm a beach-bum at heart and nature is my home. I grew up in Groton, CT where in CT we were lower-middle income and anywhere else in the US middle income. The older child, I was parentified at a young age, and lived through some traumatic times. My childhood may not be the typical one, but it made me who I am. I developed tools that helped me survive, and now that I'm older, I'm learning how best to use or not use those tools. But throughout my younger and current adulthood, I have mostly had a good balance of structure and flow. I moved out of the house at 19 when I went to university, where after a long journey, I graduated with a bachelors degree in Event Mgmt. I was already working in the field during school but it was already too late when I realized the narrative of "go to a good school to get a good job with insurance" was one one to keep us working in a system that allowed us to get by (some more than others) while our labor and profits allowed someone else to buy 5 yachts and an island. I grew up in the catholic church and santeria at home, and I left the church before my confirmation because damn they were so judgey. Ever since I've been exploring religion and spirituality and what they mean to me. I was about 25/26 when Netflix documentaries politicized me and made me aware of the corruption in our government from the wealthy and corporations. I now view life though a racial-class lens and want to live in a decolonized world. During 90 Day Fiancé, folks on the show have 90 days to make their relationship work in order to obtain a visa. Typically, couples spend the entire stint of time together, getting to know each other and making sure they’re on the same page. Tania Maduro had other plans, however.

During Syngin Colchester’s 90-day visit to the United States, she decided to take an herbal retreat in Costa Rica. The retreat was about 30 days long, meaning one-third of her time with Colchester was spent solo in Costa Rica.

At the time, Colchester was not happy to be left behind in the U.S. He was stuck living in a small shed behind Maduro’s mother’s home. He told Maduro, “I’m literally around everything that is yours. I’m all alone in the backwoods of America, you know…So I am not at all looking forward to staying here by myself. I kind of feel lost and it sucks.”

During her time in Costa Rica, Colchester wanted Maduro to call at night to chat and make sure she’s doing fine. Maduro felt stifled by this request, and refused to do so, claiming Colchester was too clingy compared to other men she’s dated.

Tania Maduro receives bad news about bartending job

Interestingly, viewers recently discovered that Tania Maduro’s work isn’t exactly herbally focused these days. In fact, the 90 Day Fiancé star has been tending bar.

During a recent episode, Maduro received some bad news from her doctor. Unfortunately, Tania Maduro was in a car accident that resulted in her having to attend physical therapy to restore mobility. Maduro visited her doctor for foot x-rays and an MRI.

The doctor explained that Maduro’s foot was crushed as a result of the accident. He told her, “It hasn’t shown any arthritis yet, but after maybe two years, you’ll probably begin to notice that arthritis.”

He also explained that her knee shows a lot of bruised bone, meaning she’ll not be able to return to work bartending for quite some time. This could be problematic, as Maduro and Syngin Colchester do seem to be a little tight on funds.

90 Day Fiancé fans have been less than forgiving towards Tania Maduro after her first season on the show with Syngin Colchester. Some have started pointing out that Maduro is tending bars instead of doing anything with her herbalism retreat in Costa Rica.

One Redditor posted, “Why is [Tania] so concerned about not being able to bartend? She said her mind is racing trying to think of what she could do for work. Um… isn’t that why she went to her [herbal medicine] classes? Isn’t that supposed to be her career?”

“I’m not watching their season, but she has a f*cking bachelor’s degree, she could find a desk job so she wouldn’t be on her feet. Yea, the money won’t be as good as it would be bartending, but at least it would be something,” added another user.

“Had this exact same thought tonight[.] She was so insistent and adamant about taking that trip for nothing it seems,” opined another Redditor.
