’90 Day Fiancé’ Fans Debate the Worst Couple in the Franchise’s History
It’s a contest nobody wants to win. However, in the 90 Day Fiancé franchise, many couples could be awarded the crown for “Worst Couple.” Recently, fans debated if Before the 90 Days Season 5 couple Alina and Caleb won the award for worst couple in 90 Day Fiancé history. Plenty of fans agreed, but several more offered up their own nominations.
Alina received heat from ‘90 Day Fiancé’ fans for her racially insensitive social media posts
Alina is top of mind for many 90 Day Fiancé fans because of her recent social media posts. The Russian model recently posted images with racial slurs toward the Black community and made derogatory comments referencing Asian and Muslim cultures.
The photo showed a picture of Alina with a black, penciled-on beard while wearing a red bandana. The caption read, “Yo [expletive] gotta do sum [sic] gold diggin #gangsta #mymomwantedason #throwback #homecoming.”
Fans also think her demands for sex from her boyfriend Caleb are wholly inappropriate. Plus, her friend Elijah joined in on teasing Caleb for the lack of intimacy, which set fans off as well.
One Redditor wrote, “Alinas entitlement and pushiness for sex is disgusting. Shes extremely inconsiderate of how Caleb might feel at any given moment, like when he got off a 20 hour flight, or was not aware of Russian table manners. Her and Elijah jump at any moment to put the Caleb down and never sticks up for him while her friends continuously bash him. So far it seems like she’s just using him for her own validation.”
However, other fans of the show chimed in with their own nominations for “Worst Couple” before long.
Fans mentioned former ‘90 Day Fiancé’ stars Geoffrey Paschel and Ed Brown as contenders
Not all of the former 90 Day Fiancé stars mentioned were couples. In some cases, viewers liked one half of the duo but hated the other half. Ed Brown from Before the 90 Days Season 4 received several mentions in the comments.
A woman on Tiktok accused Ed of sexual assault last year. On top of that, an audio recording of Ed yelling at his now-wife Liz made the rounds on social media, further angering fans of the show.
Geoffrey Paschel, who appeared on the same season as Big Ed, has a criminal past. In October of 2021, after a two-day trial, courts found Geoffrey guilty of aggravated kidnapping, domestic assault, and interference with emergency calls. He currently awaits sentencing.

Part of the fun of reality TV revolves around the “messiness” of an unscripted show. However, lately, fans have wondered if TLC is going too far. From filming the couples as they start to get intimate to not firing people like Ed Brown from the franchise, the choices of TLC have turned some fans off from the show.
Regardless, the 90 Day Fiancé franchise doesn’t seem to be stopping any time soon. The channel recently announced upcoming spinoffs, and the streaming service discovery+ offers shows that those without a subscription can’t access.
