Mike gets backlash for the way he treated Ximena

At the beginning of the season, Mike started as a fan favorite. However, his image drastically changed after he refused to leave Ximena’s home during their breakup. Toward the season’s finale, many fans felt they have finally seen Mike’s true colors.

During Mike and Ximena’s explosive fight after their breakup, Mike attempted to manipulate her with money. Then he tried to shame her for her line of work as a cam girl, despite that being how they met.

However, it seemed that his attempts backfired, and fans were outraged by the way he treated Ximena. This one fight made fans realize that Mike was not being used but was using Ximena.

‘Before the 90 Days’ Season 5 cast defends Mike during the tell-all

Despite the strong fan opinions of Mike, the 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days cast was convinced that Ximena was the one to blame. During part 2 of the tell-all, which aired on April 10, every cast member defended Mike.

Ella Johnson told the cameras, “I will defend Mike. I think she did wrong, and she needs to admit to that. I just don’t respect someone who just keeps taking and taking and taking. And then how she treated him with like, ‘You disgust me.’ I’m just like, ‘Then what are you doing?'”

Kimberly Menzies said, “Make sure that you’re being treated right because you’re a good man.” She tells the cameras, “You’re supporting somebody for a whole year, and then you say you’re not in love with them. Be like, ‘B****, why am I sending you money?'”

’90 Day Fiancé’ fans ‘disgusted’ by Mike playing the victim

After the tell-all, fans took to Reddit to discuss how Ximena was insulted while the cast praised Mike. One fan wrote, “So gross watching Mike play victim this whole tell-all.”

Another fan commented, “Kind of annoyed everyone was on Mike’s side. He was gross, manipulative, and kept putting Ximena and her profession down in previous episodes.”

Another fan agreed, writing, “How can literally everyone who’s watched think Mike’s a disgusting, affection buying incel, but the cast loves him? … Not one person said who can blame Ximena when she accepted his help considering her circumstances.

Not one person had her back, knowing what he said about her returning to the adult website like it was a derogatory slap in her face when that’s where he met her. I know they’re not together anymore, but I hope she did drain his bank account because he’s not a ‘good guy.’ He’s just a desperate man who tried to buy love and failed.”

However, this isn’t the first time that Mike has played the victim during this season. Despite insulting Ximena and her family, he blamed the TLC for bad editing.

90 Day Fiancé Season 9 premieres Sunday, April 17 at 8 p.m. ET on TLC and discovery+.
