On 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After, Kalani Faagata has a lot of drama on her hands because of Asuelu Pulaa’s family. After taking a family trip to Washington to see Asuelu’s mother, Lesina, and his two sisters, Tammy and Rosa, the topic of money almost immediately comes up. Asuelu’s mother requested money, and he was told to bring $1,000 by his family. However, he only has $100 to contribute, and it doesn’t seem like that’s going to cut it.

After arguing over dinner, Kalani decides to speak with Lesina and Tammy in the light of day, just the three of them. It doesn’t go well, and fans have a lot of reactions about the whole thing.

Kalani hopes she can “talk some sense into them,” but it doesn’t exactly go that way.

“I’m here to tell you guys I just don’t know why you all feel entitled to me and my family’s money,” Kalani says immediately after Lesina and Tammy arrive for the meeting. “And that, however you feel, feel that way. But at the end of the day, it is going to be what I say.”

Lesina says it’s her children’s “duty” in regards to them sending money. And Tammy says the people of Samoa are poor and need help. Kalani definitely understands Samoan culture, as her dad is from there, but says it’s being taken to an extreme in this case.

“Just give me money that’s all I want,” Lesina tells Kalani in response. She also mentions that Kalani’s parents can “support and help” them.

Tammy brings up the fact that Kalani can work to help as well. It seems that no matter what, Kalani can’t prove her point to Asuelu’s family.

She tells them that she and Asuelu talked about how things would be when he came to the U.S., saying he would be responsible for his children.

“I’m sorry Kalani. I don’t care about the kids,” Lesina says.

She also admits that she wants to take Asuelu back to Samoa. When Tammy brings up divorce, Kalani gets really upset. She eventually walks away after saying she loves Asuelu, and it has nothing to do with money.

Tammy then lunges at Kalani as she’s walking away, and her mother holds her back as she says, “Wait until I see you, I’m going to beat you up.” Luckily, nothing gets physical.

Fans can’t stop discussing this moment between Kalani and Asuelu’s mother and sister. On Reddit, fans seem to be overwhelmingly on Kalani’s side about things.

Yet another fan said Kalani “handled herself so well” in the situation, and one person said it was “the best argument I’ve seen all season.”

Many fans loved Kalani’s decision to walk away from the arguing. “Damn did anyone else love seeing Kalani walk away calmly from Asuelu’s screaming sister?” a Reddit user asked.

One fan said when Kalani walked away from the arguing, she was the “queen.” “Kalani became my queen at that moment. … I normally do not get that emotionally invested into a situation, but I feel for Kalani,” they said.

Another fan agreed. “Me too! The way she walked away was so classy,” the fan said.

The money issues confused some fans, who wondered how Kalani is supposed to give Asuelu’s family cash.

“I’m just super confused on the double standard re: pay for me, but Kalani’s parents can pay for you,” a fan said. “Like, wouldn’t she understand if they’re giving something/anything to her while also trying to not be a burden to Kalani’s parents.”

Will Kalani be able to repair the relationship with Asuelu’s family in the future? Only time will tell.
