90 Day Fiancé fans first met Jovi Dufren and Yara Zaya on season 8 of the flagship series. They instantly became a fan-favorite couple. Which resulted in the duo joining the season 6 cast of the spinoff Happily Ever After?.

Jovi and Yara’s relationship has moved very quickly. But his lack of maturity has caused some serious problems. Even his mom says he has a lot of growing up to do, and fans definitely agree. After witnessing his poor parenting skills and his partying ways, fans are shocked to learn exactly how old Jovi really is.

The ’90 Day Fiancé’ stars met on a traveling app

Jovi is a world traveler who met Yara on a traveling app when he was looking for someone to join him on his adventures. He wasn’t expecting to find anything serious, but things changed when he met up with Yara.

Their instant connection led to a blossoming romance, and just six months into their relationship Yara found out she was pregnant. Unfortunately, she ended up suffering a miscarriage. But the heartbreaking experience ended up bringing them closer together.

Yara uprooted her life in the Ukraine to be with Jovi

When they found out about the pregnancy, Jovi proposed and they filed for a K-1 visa. The plan was for Yara to move to New Orleans, and they had to get married within 90 days if she wanted to stay.

But Yara had her doubts about uprooting her life and adapting to a new country. Jovi’s mom Gwen also had some concerns about the big move, knowing that the young couple would have their work cut out for them.

Jovi’s friends voiced their concerns about marriage because he loved his partying, bachelor lifestyle. They didn’t think Jovi would be able to settle down and start a new life as a husband and father.

’90 Day Fiancé’ fans are shocked when they find out how old Jovi really is

Jovi was a bit hesitant about going through with the marriage plan after Yara’s miscarriage. But they ended up tying the knot within the 90-day time frame. And, they ended up getting pregnant again.

Jovi and Yara got married in February 2020, and welcomed their first baby Mylah seven months later. This huge, quick change in Jovi’s life has put his maturity to the test. And his terrible parenting skills have come close to costing him his marriage.

All of this behavior from Jovi had some fans believing he was younger than his 25-year-old wife. But the truth is, Jovi is actually 31 years old after celebrating his birthday on August 14. And fans can’t believe it.

Jovi’s mom is on ‘Yara’s side’

During an episode of Happily Ever After?, Jovi wanted to spice things up in his boring marriage by taking Yara to a strip club to celebrate their anniversary. But she found his behavior offensive, and his mom agreed. Gwen made it clear she was on “Yara’s side” and said her son “has a lot of growing up to do.”

When fans found out that he was still a party animal and acting so immaturely at the age of 31, fans were quick to call out the “man-child.”

“If you want to party and you’re not ready for the responsibility children bring, wear protection,” one fan wrote.

The ’90 Day Fiancé’ star really does love his wife

The immature Jovi is now in his 30s and still embracing a party animal lifestyle. But he really does love his wife, says his mom Gwen. However, she really wants her son to step up and be a man now that he is a husband and father.

“There’s no more ‘oh I’ve been on the boat for a month so I’ve got to go do something,’” Gwen said at the 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Tell-All.
