The ’90 Day Fiancé’ stars have been planning this wedding for a while

All season on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?, fans have been watching Elizabeth and Andrei plan their second wedding in Chisinau. After hosting a small ceremony in Florida, Andrei wanted his friends and family, including his parents, to take part in the celebration. The couple flew to Moldova, and with the help of Andrei’s brother, they put together a lavish event in a very short time.

But Elizabeth’s family has been very critical of Moldova from the start. On the show, they’ve called it a poor and dangerous country. When they arrived, they criticized the weather, as well as the cuisine, going as far as to call it “peasant food.”  And it’s safe to assume they were not expecting much from this Moldovan wedding either.

Elizabeth’s family is in shock at the wedding

Fans finally got to see Elizabeth and Andrei’s wedding during the Sept. 13 episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?. After the traditional church ceremony, the families head to the reception hall, where live entertainment and dancers greet them on stage.

The venue is decked with flowers and an abundance of food, and Andrei and Elizabeth look picture perfect in the middle of this lavish affair. But Elizabeth’s family seems shocked at the grandeur of it all.

“Andrei and Libby’s wedding is so over-the-top,” her sister Jen says in a confessional. “The way that they were describing this reception was that it was going to be low-key and everything. And then we walk in and it’s like oh, this is where the f*ck all the money has gone that my dad has given them.”

“I’ve never been to a wedding reception that they bring out dancers and they go crazy,” Elizabeth’s father, Chuck tells producers. “And it’s almost like a show. Like, they know how to party.”

And Elizabeth’s mom, Pam, confesses she wasn’t expecting the wedding to be so nice. “When I thought about coming to Moldova, I really as expecting just a lot of poverty, a lot of sad people,” she says. “And this wedding has been incredible. I am speechless. It’s been unbelievable.”

’90 Day Fiancé’ fans react to Elizabeth’s family’s behavior at the reception

After watching Elizabeth’s family trash Moldova all season, 90 Day Fiancé fans were thrilled to see the shock and awe in their faces. Many called out her siblings, Jen and Charlie for being jealous of their sister over money, instead of being happy for her on her big day.

“Jen was jealous of the big fancy wedding, but she still was in awe of everything,” a Reddit user suggested. “Charlie could only sit there and seethe in his resentment of Andrei and Elizabeth and everything daddy didn’t give him.”

“I think the “poorest” Moldovan in the room had 10x more class and grace than the whole family Libby combined,” another fan wrote on Reddit. “They’re complete trash. The mom and her absurd comment about expecting sad and poor people everywhere while wearing her Claire’s $15 rhinestone necklace trying to fake flex. They seem like they’ve never gone beyond their backyard.”

But some fans pointed out that Chuck, who has been critical of Andrei from the moment he met him, actually seemed happy for the couple. “I felt bad for Chuck,” one Redditor wrote, referring to Charlie’s drunken rant at the wedding. “You could tell he was really enjoying himself and proud of Libby. That was such a beautiful wedding. I was hoping some of Andre’s friends would go make Charlie disappear.”

Fans will get to see more of the wedding, and its aftermath as this season of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? continues. New episodes air Sundays on TLC.
