Jihoon Lee and Deavan Clegg of TLC’s 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way recently went public with their messy breakup, which has since played out on social media and in countless headlines.

Deavan moved on with a new boyfriend, while Jihoon took to Instagram to claim that he hadn’t seen his young son, Taeyang, in many months. The couple was allegedly uninvited from the upcoming 90 Day Fiancé Tell-All because of Deavan’s allegations against Jihoon, which include her claims that he mistreated her daughter, Drascilla. Jihoon has adamantly denied his wife’s accusations.

Recently, Jihoon headed to YouTube and Instagram to share some details about his own past in his home country of South Korea – outside of his experiences on 90 Day Fiancé or his difficult separation from Deavan. Some fans were surprised to find out that Jihoon served in the military in his home country, while others were just shocked by the results of his post-breakup makeover (including tatted eyebrows and a nonsurgical nose job).

Jihoon shared details about his military service on YouTube

To celebrate ROK Armed Forces Day on October 1, Jihoon shared a YouTube video on his personal channel on October 6. The 90 Day Fiancé star donned a military uniform to answer questions about his military service in South Korea.

Jihoon explained that he served in the military for 18 months between 2010 and 2011. Despite the long hours and hard work associated with the job, the pay left something to be desired. Deavan’s ex said he earned just $50-70 per month when he was in Private 2nd Class, and only $90 per month after he became a Sergeant.

Still, Jihoon said he was proud of the time he served. “The salary was poor, but I didn’t really mind because I was proud of myself to protect our country,” the 29-year-old dad said.

Training in the cold winter months was one of the biggest challenges Jihoon faced during those difficult months on base.

“I had to eat and even sleep outside as if it was an actual war,” Jihoon revealed. He also felt the stress and strain of having to be subservient to other military servicemembers, despite the fact that he was older than many of them as a new recruit.

“And the most difficult thing was, it felt I lost my freedom,” Jihoon added, claiming that it often “felt like a prison” on base due to the barbed wire fences surrounding him at all times.

Fans thought the ’90 Day Fiancé’ star looked completely different in new snapshots

To promote his YouTube video, Jihoon also shared a photo of himself in a uniform (of sorts) on Instagram.

90 Day Fiancé fans immediately chimed in to express their surprise at his transformation. Many viewers thought he looked completely different from the Jihoon they knew from TLC.

“Whoa, you look different!” one Instagram user wrote.

“It doesn’t even look like him anymore,” another exclaimed.

Of course, plenty of fans let Jihoon knew they approved of his new look.

“You’re lowkey too handsome,” one supporter complimented him. Others raved about how “handsome” he looked.

Many fans complimented Deavan’s ex on his new look

Several 90 Day Fiancé fans just wanted to know what work Jihoon had gotten done. Viewers overwhelmingly praised the injections he’d gotten to reshape his nose.

“Damn Jihoon that nose job looks hella good,” one viewer gushed.

Others couldn’t help comparing Jihoon to his estranged wife’s new boyfriend, a Los Angeles-born actor named Topher Park.

“Jihoon has always been cute, but I am HERE for his glow up,” a 90 Day Fiancé fan wrote. “He deserves to feel good about himself after being put down and blamed for everything.”

“You’re far better looking than that other rebound,” another viewer agreed.

Deavan has recently featured steamy photos of herself with her new man on Instagram, even sharing family time with him on her YouTube channel with her two children.

The mom of two faced significant criticism from fans after debuting her new boyfriend, with many suggesting she simply exchanged one man and father figure for another. Meanwhile, others argued that Jihoon should have fought harder for custody of the son he shares with Deavan.
