’90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After’: Debbie Plans to Sabotage Colt and Jess’ Relationship
Colt Johnson and his mom, Debbie are in Brazil on this season of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After. Colt is there to visit his new girlfriend Jess Caroline, but Debbie is sure he’s being used for money and a green card. In a sneak peek for the next episode, Debbie reveals that she’s planning to sabotage Colt and Jess’ relationship, and it actually seems to be working.
Debbie has issues with Jess on ’90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After’
After Colt’s tumultuous relationship with his ex-wife, Larissa Dos Santos Lima, Debbie is being super vigilant about his love life. When she finds out that her son is going to Brazil to meet up with his new girlfriend, Jess, she invites herself on the trip to make sure he doesn’t do anything rash.
Before they leave, Colt reveals that he’s been giving Jess money for things like clothes and travel. That’s the first red flag for Debbie, and that’s also when she begins questioning Jess’ intentions.
But when they arrive in Brazil, things finally come to a head. Right off the bat, on their first day there, Jess starts talking to Colt about sex and having kids in front of Debbie, and the conversations throw her for a complete loop. Debbie has a meltdown and yells at Jess, but then after being lectured by Colt, she talks to her to smooth things over.
Then, when Debbie and Colt visit Jess’ family for dinner, Jess’ aunt brings up the prospect of a quick Brazilian wedding. She insists that Colt and Jess get married in their house, to which a startled Debbie questions why they are moving so fast. When Jess yells at Debbie and disrespects her, she hastily rushes back to the hotel without Colt.
Debbie likes Colt’s friend Vanessa, but Jess doesn’t
On the earlier episodes of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After, Jess reveals that Colt has been texting a woman named Vanessa who he claims to just be friends with. Jess doesn’t completely believe Colt, but he insists that nothing is going on between them.
But later in a confessional, Colt admits that he slept with Vanessa once and that he has a crush on her. He doesn’t mention this to Jess, and he also hides the fact that he’s still talking to Vanessa — who he also calls his “best friend.”
Before leaving for Brazil, Debbie invites Vanessa over for dinner to thank her for cat-sitting while they’re away. Debbie reveals that she really likes Vanessa, and would prefer Colt date someone like her.
“I wish that Colt would be with someone like Vanessa, instead of Jess,” she says in a confessional.

After being disrespected by Jess, Debbie is done playing games. And knowing that Jess and her family are pushing for Colt to get married, she’s ready to do whatever it takes to break them up. In a sneak peek for the upcoming episode, Debbie reveals that she’s planning to sabotage Colt and Jess’ relationship.
“I met Jess, she seemed to be in a little bit of hurry about getting married,” Debbie says in the clip. “I will do everything in my power to sabotage his relationship.”
Then, when Jess and Colt walk into her hotel room, Debbie purposely mentions that she spoke to Vanessa. She must have known this would irk Jess, because right after she says it, Jess storms out of the room in anger. Jess questions Colt, and asks him why he’s still talking to Vanessa when he said he stopped.
If this is part of Debbie’s plan to sabotage their relationship, it’s definitely working. Fans will get to see how the whole ordeal unfolded as this season of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After continues.
