When TLC’s 90 Day Fiancé season 8 premieres on Sun., Dec. 6, at 8 p.m. EST, the lineup of seven international couples will include four new engaged couples as well as three fan-favorite pairs of returnees.

Hazel Cagalitan, 28, and 46-year-old Tarik Myers – who also became known to 90 Day Fiancé fans for his rapport with his now-estranged brother, Dean Hashim, on 90 Day Fiancé: Pillow Talk – are one of the latter. Fans are already familiar with Hazel, who hails from the Philippines, and Tarik, from Virginia Beach, VA, after their first appearance on the second season of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days.

But 90 Day Fiancé viewers will see a whole new side of Tarik and Hazel on the upcoming season, judging by TLC’s newest trailer. In the sneak peek, Hazel opened up about her bisexuality. Tarik helped his bride-to-be explore her interest in women by searching for a girlfriend alongside her.

Who are Hazel and Tarik?

Hazel and Tarik met through an online dating app before Tarik traveled to the Philippines to meet his lady love and her young son Harry, who is now eight years old. The couple wrestled through cultural differences and family members’ doubts on both sides – as well as the revelation that Hazel was homeless and struggling financially – before getting engaged.

On 90 Day Fiancé season 8, Hazel is finally moving to the U.S. to be with Tarik permanently. The 28-year-old hopes to bring Harry to the U.S. as soon as possible, according to Nicki Swift.

But, while the couple’s relationship might be more secure than ever, Hazel’s revelations about her bisexual identity – and her desire to find a girlfriend in the U.S. – could complicate their experience of the K-1 visa process considerably.

Tarik and Hazel greeted each other enthusiastically at the airport in the latest 90 Day Fiancé preview. Decked out in a blue suit and bearing a huge bouquet of flowers, Tarik couldn’t contain his excitement about his bride-to-be.

“There she is,” Tarik exclaimed, adding that he was enthralled to be settling down with Hazel at last after such a lengthy long-distance relationship. “I’m excited. I’m pumped. She doesn’t have to leave!”

“Are you crying?” Hazel asked Tarik affectionately as he cried happy tears.

As for Hazel, she was looking for a little more than marriage in the U.S. She revealed that she was bisexual, but had waited to come out due to persistent biphobia in her region of the Philippines.

“Growing up in the Philippines, I just hide it,” the 90 Day Fiancé star told TLC producers. “But here in America, I am excited about having a girlfriend.”

Tarik even helped Hazel look for women she might be interested in. Scrolling through a dating app, he listed options like “curvy” and “petite” for potential matches.

Tarik seemed to be at peace with Hazel’s longing for a girlfriend, at least for now. Still, it wasn’t clear as to whether Hazel and Tarik would both be dating her girlfriend in a polyamorous triad – or whether Hazel was looking to venture out on her own.
