’90 Day Fiancé’: It’s Not Just Sumit’s Parents Who Think He Is Bringing ‘Shame’ To His Family By Choosing Jenny
The drama is heating up between Jenny and Sumit’s family on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. In season 2 of TLC’s popular reality show, Jenny and Sumit are determined to make their relationship work as he finalizes his divorce from his first wife. Although Sumit’s parents have been against the couple’s romance from the start, they aren’t the only ones who think they do not have a future together.
Jenny does her best to win over Amit’s family on ’90 Day Fiancé’
Amid the drama with Sumit’s family, Jenny recently told 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way fans that she is not giving up on the relationship. According to Us Magazine, Jenny admitted that she has an uphill battle ahead of her but hopes that Sumit’s parents see how much she loves him.
“I’m not going to say it’s a lost cause,” she stated. “I do know his parents. I did meet them back in 2014. I hope they see how much we love each other. They should get to know me because their son loves me and I love their son.”
In season one of The Other Way, Jenny found out that Sumit was looking to get out of his arranged marriage. His parents, however, were against the divorce and did not accept his romance with Jenny.
This season of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, Jenny returns to India to live with Sumit while he finalizes his divorce (a process that will take a few months to complete). Although Jenny assured fans that she and Sumit “are not done with each other,” his parents are still unhappy with their relationship.
Jenny will have a difficult time winning over Sumit’s mom and dad this season, and living with Sumit in India while he settles his divorce isn’t going to make things any easier. But they are not the only ones who think she is bringing shame to the family.
Sumit and Amit butt heads over Jenny on ’90 Day Fiancé’
In season 2 of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way viewers watched as Sumit got ready for Jenny’s visit to India. His brother, Amit, helped get everything in order and it was clear that the time spent apart has been very emotional for Sumit and Jenny.
Although Amit was willing to lend a hand, he has some major doubts about his brother’s romance. In the upcoming episode of 90 Day Fiancé, the two siblings sat down and discussed the situation, including Sumit’s future plans.
Amit admitted that his biggest concern is Jenny’s age. Jenny is older than Sumit’s mother, who does not appreciate that her son has fallen in love with someone older than herself. Despite these concerns, Sumit assured Amit that he is fully committed to the romance.
Sumit’s brother then pointed out that it is his job to take care of his parents as they get older. But he won’t be able to do that because he’ll be taking care of Jenny. He then ended the conversation by saying that Sumit is bringing “shame” upon their family by marrying Jenny.
Jenny fires back against the haters
Given their age difference, Jenny and Sumit’s relationship has sparked a lot of controversy with 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way fans. While some viewers have slammed the couple for their unconventional relationship, some of his friends took issue with the fact that they are unlikely to have children.
In light of all the backlash, Jenny recently revealed that she and Sumit do their best to avoid the “haters,” regardless of what the critics say.
“It’s gonna happen regardless,” she stated. “It’s really difficult for us. We just love each other … we don’t pay attention to those around us. It doesn’t matter and we just don’t pay attention to it. Of course there’s haters, but we just want people to understand that we love each other regardless of our age difference, our culture and background — Indian, American — it doesn’t matter.”
Jenny added that she and Sumit basically live in their “own little bubble” and do their best to not read what everyone is saying about them on social media. She also assured 90 Day Fiancé fans that she still “loves” Sumit, despite everything that went down last season.
We do not know if Sumit and Jenny are still together. But based on the fact that they are both willing to make things work, there is a good chance that things will end well for the couple. Whether or not Jenny can win over his parents, of course, is another matter.
